I reallly have a craving for dippy eggs :( that soft boiled eggs, been told you have to have your eggs fully cooked but in my pregnancy pack that i got given by the midwife it said that you can have them if the eggs are red lion marked? which means they have been treated for salmonella ecoli n everything else. is this true ? i realy want them :D xx

I have been having trouble eating, and one of the things i have been eating is runny egg on toast! (Bad me!) I always make sure that the eggs are fresh, and that i cook all the white thru properly. The risk of salmonella is slim if you are certain of the source and age of your eggs.

Its your choice and decision, all i can say is i had a scan on Weds and all looked well xx

My midwife told me the same thing sweetie, so long as they are red lion marked they are fine. I have had them a few times and enjoyed every second. It's your choice honey, if you decide to go for it then enjoy!!!xx

Oh god I know what you mean!! Yes you should avoid delicious runny eggs because of salmonella. They just had a horrible outbreak in the states! But usually, it's incredibly rare (like one in thousands). I don't know about 'marked' eggs, but pasteurized eggs are fine (not "flash" pasteurized though). I haven't looked for these but should...

if you're unlucky enough to get the bad egg, the danger is huge- as in miscarriage or serious birth defects. You wouldn't even have to get sick as I think it passes right through the placenta. But! If you're in poor peril's boat and can't eat anything else, the benefits of eating something as nutritious as eggs might outweigh the risks.

THANKYOOOOU :D x i have really been craving them and oh gosh just the thought of them makes me drool lol :) xx

the marked eggs are in the uk where the chickens and eggs are treated against bacteria and salmonella before they even hit the shelfs, just didnt know they wer still ok :)xxx

I'd say as long as they're treated with pasteurization and not some other process...
