Hi Girls,

I don't know if any of you also use I-am-pregnant.com as well as here, but I found this link to a very heart wrenching story called Elijah's Story. It's about a family who owned a lizard and wasn't aware of the effects they can have on a new born baby. I had no idea they were so dangerous till reading this, so i thought maybe I could enlighten some other people too. If you've already seen this, thanks for reading anyway.

Hope you are all well

That was so sad :(

the poor family. I wonder if anything was ever done about the pet shops.

Yes it was very sad. Sometimes i think people sue companies for the wrong reasons and with only money in mind, but I think this is one occasion where I hope they did sue and got some money to help ease the stress of having to raise a child that needs as much care as Elijah does.

As far as i know if ever u buy any reptile (in this country) the shop really make sure u know what ur doing as there not the easiest creature to look after. my neighbour had a huge iguana and a bearded dragon, but i thought it was common knowlege they carried samonella. and its very very important to keep surfaces very clean in any room the lizard goes and especially after touching them.

i think if any person owns any exotic animal, they should really look into how to look after the animal etc. i do feel sorry for the family but im very suprised they were not aware of this risk

we hav 2 lizards and im gobsmacked nobody told us of the dangers of reptiles!

I serously wouldn't have them in the house :(

xxx

gosh tht made me cry! i waqsnt even slightly aware of teh risks!
