I was meeting friends today for lunch. I arrived at the car park which is about a 10 minute walk from the restaurant. I'm pregnant again, only very early but constantly needing to pee already. Rather than leave my son with my friends in the restaurant as he can sometimes play up, I thought I'd use the toilets in the supermarket where I parked. Someone was in the disabled toilet so I thought I'd use the disabled cubicle in the main ladies toilets. Some stupid older woman who was NOT disabled decided to go into that one, even though every other cubicle was free. I was running late as always so decided to squeeze myself and my son in his buggy into one of the normal cubicles. As soon as I got us in, I knew we wouldn't be able to get out.
So tried to get out and yep, I was right, we're stuck! So I thought I'd try and hold my son while I dismantle the buggy but that wasn't happening. So I got my son out and managed to squeeze us out of the cubicle, all while he was crying. Then there was a Polish lady washing her hands so I asked her if she would mind holding my son while I got the buggy out. Typically, I don't think she could speak a word of English apart from "baby" but she happily held him for me and was saying "baby, baby, baby" while rocking him trying to stop him crying. I managed to get the buggy out easily after this but what a nightmare. I'm not comfortable with strangers holding my baby but this was a desperate situation and thank god she was nice! What a palava, and the sort of palava that only I could get myself in to. I knew we'd get stuck but when you need a wee, you need a wee so I think all common-sense goes out of the window!
Just thought I'd share my embarrassment. Don't suppose anyone has anything more embarrassing than this happen to them have they? Might make me feel a bit better! I'm such an idiot!
