emergancy trip to labor and delivery

Well im 24 weeks and 4 days and had to run to the labor and delivery unit last night cause of sever contractions. Im ok now but come to find out my cervix is shorting already and the dr said i could have our lil monkey any time
I so wish he would stay in there longer have any of you ladies had this happened and made it farther along?

I went into preterm labour with Anja at 24 weeks, she stayed put until 33 weeks though Did the hospital give you steroids?

hey hun, i had minor contractions(the period pain like ones) so a bit different..but i had a shortening cervix too at 20 weeks.i am now nearly 27 weeks and my cervix lengthened with bed rest and medication then shortened again..you still have a chance to go a bit longer if u truly lie down with ur feet elavated it can really help..hope it does for you.xo

oh hun, i hope he stays put for a while longer. i agree with the girls, bed rest!!! try not to move around too much, and basically try to avoid anything thats supposed to help bring on labour. hope you're ok x

Really hope bubs stays put for as long as possible. I have had 2 prem labours at 24 + 2 and 24 weeks on the dot. With my 2nd I went in at 23 weeks, they stopped the labour with tablets and put me on bedrest and gave me steroids for the babys lungs.
I would try and take it as easy as you can, and keep hydrated! xxx

In my last pregnancy my waters went at 20.6 weeks I was told I WOULD go into labour within 72 hours... I managed to get through till 27.1 weeks on strict bed rest. I hope that you too continue for many more weeks - the fact that you are past viability is positive and I hope for more postive vibes and cooking weeks for bub.

We've been told to expect our daughter any time soon. I've got all the "symptoms" I had just before my first daughter was born. Feeling groggy, braxton hicks getting stronger and worse but never regulating, lost my mucus plug, nesting has gone through the roof etc. I'm hoping our LO stays in longer but all my midwife said to do was rest and take it easy.

Im praying that LO stays put...I just had a stitch put in because my cervix is shortneing..I was allowed to go on a cruise for 5 days but have to put my feet up until the next appointment in two weeks..keep us udated please and feel free to send me a private message if you need support..must stick together us girls!!
