Empty gestational sac 4 weeks

Hi, I am 29years and this is my first pregnancy.

I visited my Dr yesterday all excited after having received a positive preg test only to be told that I have an empty irregularly shaped sac that measures 15mm therefore I should be between weeks 5-6. However I know exactly when I ovulated and from my calculations and with the help of the internet I have calculated that I may just be only 4 gestational weeks (really 2 weeks foetal development).

Anyone with similar stories to share with successful results? Can good come out of this situation? Can my sac become regular and can the sac contents and heartbeat appear now or will I miscarry...

Will be going back for another u/s on Friday. Wish me luck...(The longest week ever...)

I had an empty gestational sac until 6 weeks 2 days and I was charting so absolutely positive of my dates. I was being monitored very closely due to a prior ectopic and so was being scanned every 2 days with only an empty sac for quite some time! This stage of pregnancy is extremely subjective and I would even say that if you are sure on your dates Friday may still leave you with questions so try to be patient. It seems around 6 weeks is the magic area to "expect" to see more.

Btw be careful with those ovulation estimator apps as they assume a woman had regular cycles and ovulates on cd 14 every month (which isn't the majority actually!). The only true way to know what day you ovulated is by charting your bbt and of course a scan showing a ruptured follie Even cramping and cervical mucus can not align with when the actual O took place so give yourself a few days either way of speculation on when you O'd. To add to the confusion when you implanted can affect how far along fetal development has come so there are many factors to consider. 2 days can make a HUGE difference on what you will see on a scan during these first 6 weeks

I had a empty sac at exactly 4 weeks. I went for a scan after having a D&C due to a MMC as they thought it could be left over tissue causing a positive test and there it was... an empty sac confirming a pregnancy but not a viable one, the few weeks after that were terrible, I was constantly worrying that my next scan wouldn't show anything but here I am now over half way with a little boy. The tech actually said to me at 4 weeks it's a surprise to actually see anything at all. I'm sure everything will work out for you and I'm sending you lots of baby dust x

My friend had an irregular shaped sac and empty at 5weeks but at 6 they still thought it was empty but thank god I was with her because there her lil girl was hidding with a heartbeat! ! Her and my son are born on the same day! Dont give up!!

I went to my doc, and guess what?! Everything was in place! Healthy heartbeat, yolk sac and even the gestational sac was perfectly round!

The only problem now is that this morning sickness or all day sickness is really terrible. Can't wait for my first trimester to fly by and finally start to enjoy by pregnancy! !

I had an empty Sac on
Wednesday there it measured
6wks 1day & it was 18mm.
Sorry i cannot give you any advice at the mo but its not unusual to still see nothing at 6wks also! So you may see nothing for a few wks yet. I've been scanned 2wks in a row & i have to go back on Wed again where i should be 7wks & we should see something! So your still not out the game hun, all the best x
