Engaging

Had midwife on 28th May and baby was head down but free, had check up yesterday and baby is 2/5th engaged od 3/5th palable!

Does anyone have past experiemce of how long it takes to get to completely engaged?

Know it will vary a bit but just wondered

It does vary, and head can come out at any time. Erin was not engaged at all at my 39+5 appointment and I went into labour 40+2 (kinda - waters broke anyway).

it depends on the pregnancy if its ur first it can happen seevral weeks before but with subsequent pregnancies dont normally happen until in labour

Like the others have said it really does just depend on you and the baby.

Mine was fully engaged at 35 weeks and he stayed like that until i went into labour at 41 weeks.

Hmm, I don't really know but at my 38 week appointment, just under two weeks ago, baby's head was still 4/5 palpable. Went in for my sweep this morning and baby's head is now on 2/5 palpable. Yay, she's finally moved down! And she's moved from ROA to LOA (which is meant to be a better position for birth)
