i tried having a BM and after the toilet seemed to be filled with blood... and when i wped my bum it was a lot of blood...not from the vagina it was too high. is this normal??

This didn't happen to me when I had an episiotomy. I would give your MW a quick call just to double check everything is fine down. If you were straining (sorry TMI) that could have caused a slight tear x

This happened to me and my perinuim tore near my anus...it's still torn now as they wont re -stitch it but it's bloody painfull. I had forceps, a episiotomy and sustained a nasty 4th degree tear.

Yes, I have had the same thing after having a large baby, it now opens up each time I have a baby and I bleed a lot. It is an anal fissure, and yours, like mine, is probably quite large. It does heal, but takes a while, and it may reopen for no reason at all. It is very frustrating. Stool softener helps right now. ANd you should let your doctor know as well. Hugs!!! They are awful!!

i was given a laxative to "soften things up" so it wouldnt hurt or bleed. i couldnt wipe either i could only dab a wee bit then i would jump over to the shower and use the hose :dohh: (was in hosp for a week so was able to do that

laxatives didn't work for me .. I had an episiotomy followed by a 4th degree tear ... It honestly could be hemmorhoids hun! I thought one of my stitches had torn as my bum was really itchy & burning one day .. went to my gyn & she told me I had three huge hemmorhoids! Get checked out asap so you can start feeling better soon :flower:

ive been taking stool softeners every day...honestly i dot even know how far back my episiotomy goes, if there were other tears, etc... those things werent really communicated to me... just that it took an entire suture kit to close up! and the nurse seemed pretty shocked at it lol. i didnt feel like i was straining to get it out... i am only 3 days after birth right now, i know i wont be comfortable yet lol.

i had considered hemmorroids but mine never bled that much. then again i never pushed a baby out for 4 hours either.

You were left for FOUR hours pushing your baby out?! Hun that is awful :-( they should of stopped you pushing at 2 hours - if not less! :-( I hate the NHS at the moment I really do!:growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad::growlmad:

i would def get checked out hun. i did find i bleed a lot more after a BM, i guess it was because of all the pushing i had to do
my episiotomy was itchy too!
