I am getting really fed up and upset now!

My baby is now 25 days old.
I had a forceps delivery and had to have an Episiotomy, basically about 12 days after I had to go back in hospital cos I was in that much pain down there.

It turned out that my stiches had disolved too fast and my cut had come open and got infected so they kept me in for 3 days on an antibiotic drip and then sent me home with some oral antibiotics which were for 4 days.

So this will of been 2 weeks on monday since I came out and now its getting sore again, its nnoowhere near as bad as it was but im starting to think its never ever going to heal!! I dont even care if it never looks the same again down there I just want it to stop hurting and been uncomfortable.

I have been having salt and tea tree oil baths and letting air get to it

is there anything you can suggest please, its really getting to me now

Thanks

Hi I'm sorry I'm not sure what to offer as mine wasn't infected, but have you used frozen maxi pads?

try getting...shoot i would forget the name :( they are these pads for hemmorhoids but i used them for my stitches cause i had a 2nd degree tear and they eased the pain soo much! also try ice packs then heat. that helped mine and now i don't hurt at all!

Mine wasn't infected but lavender oil in my bath really helped it heal. My midwife said for salt to work you have to have absolutely tons of it. Also as the other posts have said, put your pads in the fridge or freezer. Make sure you are using special maternity pads too as normal ones can pull on your stiches. I do hope you get some relief soon. x

like the poster above said normal pads pull on the stitches, they also rub on them and make them really sore, I wish somebody had told me that, other than everything your doing I would say take it easy, it will get better although it doesn't feel like it, remember to keep on top of the pain killers, take them regularly :hugs: hope you feel better soon.

I had a forceps delivery aswel. I found baths helped ease it for a while. Also anti inflammatory painkillers.
It's horrible, I know but it will feel better in time :flower:
I still get soreness from it now sometimes if i'm sat in an uncomfortable position.

aww hunny they r soo painfull. mine got infected cos the stiches didnt disolve i had to be given tabs to disovle them its the most painfull thing xx.

mine took around 3 months till i felt completly back 2 normal but after about 8 weeks it gets alot less painfull.

everytime u go a wee poor some cool water down there it really helps xx

I had a 3rd degree tear and a episiotomy, mine didnt get infected but i used lavender oil and some milk in my baths and that helped so much. Also i let the air get to it overnight. Hope it gets better for you soon x

I had an Episiotomy and they suspected an infection so they gave me anti biotics. But I found the best thing was lavendar oil, thats what they gave me from the hosp an i also bought a bottle. A few drops in your bath works wonders. But also you may laugh try bathing in a shallow bath atleast 4-5 times a day with the lavendar oil. After having LO it was always a choice when he slept to bathe/bath or sleep and I opted for bathe.
/bath everytime and made it feel 10x times better. Also try sleeping with nothing on below at night so the air can get to it, really so everythign can breathe lol. Hope this helps you. The doctor also gave me loads of diclafenic to take (bad spelling) and that really eased the swelling around the area aswell

Def. use tea tree oil dropped into some milk and then poured into the bath - I also kept a bowl of water with milk and tea tree oil in next to the toilet and dabbed some cotton wool in it and used it to dab on the stitches after I went to the toilet

I too was cut and had forceps with my first, lost a lot of blood.
I also recommend lavender oil in the bath, just a few drops.
It does work also if you are still feeling a bit bruised / tender homeopathic arnica tablets.....
