Ergo Infant Insert

Hi ladies

I'm looking to buy the Ergo galaxy carrier, and they say you need the infant insert for young babies. My issue is that my daughter, although only 7 weeks old, is 12lb and nearly 25 inches long... so I'm wondering whether the infant insert wouldn't be needed because of her size? Any advice/ insight would be really appreciated

Size-wise she probably doesn't need it so much, but I'm pretty sure they also need to be able to hold their heads up to go without the insert. If you get it before she can do that, maybe try using a rolled-up towel to support her head until she can do it herself and see how that goes?

I think the bubba needs to be able to hold their own head up. But maybe try a blanket or something first, then buy the insert. Or buy the insert, if you have success with a blanket you could just return the insert.
