Ok, so following on from my other thread i'm now thinking of nipping to the 24 hr Asda to get some Evening Primrose Oil to use as a lubricant with my DH, anyone else using this? Just wanted to check its safe and it wont give me thrush or anything, I really am desperate to get this baby moving and will try anything thats safe to do so xxx

The midwives here do not recommend it as it can give you a dodgy belly and the runs. Can't say I fancied it, the thought of having a dodgy belly right now on top of the other aches and pains I am getting now is not appealing!!

I used EPO from 36 weeks. I inserted 2 pearls at bedtime as far towards my cervix as possible. I do think that it helped to soften my cervix. When I was examined 10 days before I was due I was already almost 2cm and very soft. I told my MW I was using it and she said she thought that's why my cervix was ripening nicely. I also took raspberry leaf from 34 weeks though so that may have helped too.

I had not probs with the EPO just a slight increasing CM which is understandable when you are stuffing oil up your va-jay-jay!!

Wish i'd have known that this could be a problem sooner! amazing the different problems you get with different pregnancies, if i'd have thought about this weeks ago my baby may have been here by now! oh well, now I know I'm on it! xxx

i dont think it makes a huge difference honey. We are all convinced we will go early and we are all convinced if we do this and that these babies will make an entrance when in actual fact, they will just arrive when they are cooked.

Ahh so you took my advice i see.;). I'm just wondering do you girls that use this actually put the pills up there ...or do you break em opened and rub it on the cervix...b/c thats the way my friends always did it.

    GOOD LUCK!
