Have to go in next week for the 3 hour version. :( What is the likelyhood of failing the 2nd test after failing the 1st? If I change my diet immediately, will it affect the test next week?

Sorry you failed it! I've heard that there's a high rate of failure on the first 1-hour test, though. Then a lot of women pass the second one fine. Hope the second test goes better for you! :)

Unfortunately a diet change won't change the outcome of the test. It's nothing you have done or could do differently. It's all your body and how it's reacts when preggo. I passed it on my first pregnancy, failed the first but passed the 2nd on my 2nd pregnancy, and this pregnancy I failed both. It's a little inconvenient having to eat perfectly everytime, but in the end it's not that bad.

I failed the first and passed the second! Diet wont' change it...just your body! Likely a false positive they are so common, good luck to you!

Good luck hun! I failed the first but passed the second!

Hi, sorry to sound silly but what is a GD test? X

Early in this pregnancy I failed the 1 hr but past the 3 hr a week later.

lol im so glad someone else wrote what is a gd test. i was about to ask same thing

Gestational diabetes test or glucose tolerance test. Lots of people fail the 1 hour test which is why they don't use it to diagnose gd only to put people forward for the 3 hour test. If you fail that and have gd it really isn't the end of the world as pregnancy complications go it's probably the most manageable. You won't be able to affect the outcome as you will have fasted before the first blood test. Good luck.

Me too, I've got to go to the hospital for the next one :( Was really worried yesterday but now am thinking it is probably nothing I hope. We'll be ok x

i never got offered the 1hr one they made me sit there for 2hours but i havent heard anything back from the hospital so im guessing i passed it?

I failed my GTT and have to do a two hour test myself. Part of me wants to just skip it cuz I've left it so long, I'm already several weeks past when it should have been done. I feel a bit bad :( I hate going for bloodtests so much..

Yeah, the test was not fun... got 2 withdrawals out of each arm, owww. And the glucola stuff made me soooo nauseous and dizzy on an empty stomach. Waiting to hear back. They said if I don't hear anything by Monday, it's a good sign... but at the earliest I'd probably hear tomorrow. I hope I don't hear from them!

FINALLY got my test results today and .... they said it went GREAT, so no special diet for me, yay! Such a relief!:happydance:
