Right, parks are lonely places when the only company you have is a 13 month old toddler who thinks it's hilarious to just sit at the top and laugh but I feel we haven't been enjoying this weather. Take today for instance....we went town this morning, then to view a flat, then Tesco. He has spent this afternoon fighting a nap (just given in now...or maybe not!) playing with his toys inside. I feel so guilty but playing outside is soooo much hassle! He has to have piriton syrup, sunglasses and hat on, sunscreen on and then after 30 mins or so he's had enough! How much outside time is everyone else and there children having?

We tend to just walk to town in the afternoon and if it's not too packed we visit the park. Otherwise just a walk really! Or some shopping. I don't have a usable garden and i don't think lo would have much fun just sitting around in the grass park with me. We don't really have any friends around to do things with, other than our library story sessions and that's obviously indoors! So i know how u feel! I see groups of mums with buggies just relaxing in the sun and feel a bit guilty that we're on our way home to play inside again! X

Mine are outside most of the day, my toddler is in the garden more or less all day at the moment, we normally go a walk in the morning then to the park for a couple hours after his nap and obviously baby comes along so he's outside a lot too. If I just had baby I would probably just go for a walk a day and play inside the rest, hes not as bothered by it.

I know what you mean about taking just lo to the park on your own... All we can really do is go on the swings and after that its a bit dull. We just go for walks or feed the ducks (though that's a bit hard work as my lo can't stand up yet) though the past few days I've put a rug out in the garden and put all the toys on there... At least we're still getting some sun xx

To be honest, you shouldn't really be spending too much time in very hot sun with babies and toddlers anyway. I know you can slather them with sunscreen and put hats on etc but too many UV rays is not good for anyone. I think its nice to take advantage of the weather and do some things outdoors that can't normally be done (picnics, adventure or water parks etc) but like I said, don't feel too guilty as baby shouldn't be exposed to the sun too much anyway as their skin isn't used to it like ours or a much older child.

I've been out most of the day whilst its been nice. I just take all lo's toys into the back garden and set him up in the shade and I sit in the sun! We've even had the jumperoo outside! I am a sun worshiper though!

None at all. Being pregnant in this heat sucks monkey balls! Mum took Aden to the park briefly late afternoon/this evening after his tea and before bath so I could clean a bit but other than the walk to the hairdressers and then M+S (5 mins away) we have been inside all day
