Hi all my OH and i have been Not trying not preventing for about 1.5 years and actively trying for about 6 months. I stopped taking the pill about 2 years ago and only had about 4 periods in that time. I have just recently seen a doctor about this, had scans and blood test and my doctor said there is evidence of PCOS. So she has refered me to a fertility specialist because our goal is to fall pregnant. So i just feel a bit silly going to see a specialist because im afraid the doctor will look at my partner and i like we are to young (me 24 him 23) or like we dont have a reason to see him. So my question is do you think the doctor will think we are silly? And what can we expect to happen on our first appointment?

While I don't have experience with fertility specialists, i truly doubt they will think you're silly or too young.

There's no age in which fertility can come up. They're not there to judge nor is it their place. They want to help you. Though i do understand the fear / worry. I'm 32 and still have worries like that over things :) i know I'm not the only one that feels that way over a lot of things (regardless of age), so i think what you're feeling is completely normal :hugs:

I'm sorry you're gong through this, and i really hope that after your first appointment you'll be able to feel more comfortable with the specialist. Thinking of you and praying your first appt goes well <3

I dont think its up to them to decide if you are too young or not... you pay for a service you wish to get regardless of your age.. I was 23 when I told my OB that we are going to try, 6 months later (I was then 24) I told her its just not happening and we found out I am not ovulating, She immediately put me on Clomid so I can get pregnant, this was her her response when I told her I cant get pregnant... 'I am going to give you Clomid, because you dont want to wait, you want to fall pregnant now' - so I wouldn't worry if I were you. They are professional and wont judge or not take you serious :D

Honestly, don't feel silly! It's your life and that's all that matters. I don't think that you or your partner are too young, it's a pretty common age that people start a family.

I found out I had PCOS and went to a fertility doctor. Though there is a lot of testing, blood work, and ultrasounds, it wasn't as bad as I thought and they were able to pin point exactly what was going on (I wasn't ovulating) I fell pregnant with my daughter the first month of taking femara.

Thank you all for making me feel a little more confident. I hope he can find out what is wrong with me pretty quickly. It gets harder to stay positive the longer it takes.
