My OH and his son have been driving me nuts today. I just wanted a quiet sunday as I am feeling so exhausted at the moment instead OH has been in bed with hayfever leaving me to look after his son.

I feel really annoyed as he's being so pathetic about his hayfever and is slamming around in the kitchen because I asked him to get out of bed and make his son dinner.

I feel awful for being so unsympathetic but I am not feeling 100% either.

Am I being unfair getting annoyed that I am looking after his son while he lazes in bed?

Maybe if he was seriously ill, but for hayfever!! Your OH needs to take a man-up pill!!

In bed for hay fever? Lol. That wouldn't fly in this house! Id have no sympathy.

Oh man...that reminds me of a joke I saw once "oh I'm sorry dear, your not feeling well? Can I get you anything? A tissue? Juice? Your balls perhaps? Hahahahaha

No! Don't feel bad!! Men love acting like babies. Hahahahaha. He'll suck it up and survive. Their like toddlers. They just want to see what they can get away with. If e has hay fever he can take a Claritin like the rest of the universe and move on.

My DH is the same. Slightest sniffle and the whole world is against him. How can he get with life when he has a runny/blocked nose. My DH has always been so over dramatic when it comes to illness. Especially if he had to take something. He'll check the side effects and then sure enough he'll get most of them. His step mother used to take that part out of the pack so he didn't know what the side effects were. I married a man baby when it comes to bring ill lol. But yeah I can understand your frustration. I'd have little to no sympathy for hay fever either.

Give him a Benadryl and a kick up the butt! Lol
No that wouldn't work in my house. If my OH is really ill then of course I would look after him but man flu, hangovers, anything like that gets no sympathy. Explain that you are too busy growing a human to be pandering after him! X

No chance would that fly in our house! I have dreadful hayfever, to the point where I can't open my eyes in the morning and halfway through the day, and struggle to breathe, yet I still get up and go about my business! Plus, lying down makes a runny nose worse! Tell him to man up and strap on a pair!

Thanks ladies, I thought I was being a horrible person but I just don't get it. He only has his son 3 weekends out of 4 and he misses him terribly inbetween. I would want to get up and make the effort if that was me and if I felt really rotten I would make it a movie day and cuddle up on the sofa with him.

He has apologised for making me look after him but it doesn't help as today I am now so exhausted and run down I have a cold sore and am working from home rather than going to the office! Grrrrrrr

Yeah, agree with the other ladies. Not too harsh, cos that's some bullsh*t. Guys are such wusses!! Glad you got him out of bed ;)

My DH gets sick and still goes and works a 12-14 hour shift. I get sick and still look after 4 young kids while DH is at work. The days of being babied while sick ended when we had kids LOL! Now ya gotta put your big boy/girl pants on and carry on. I totally get why you would be a bit pissed.
