I was talking to a friend of mine who is pregnant with her second about when she first felt her babies move.. She told me with her first she felt it kicking (not just movement but actual kicking) at 12 weeks and even earlier with her 2nd!? Is it even possible to feel any sort of movement so early? I was under the impression it happened well into the 2nd trimester, and that the first movements are a fluttery sort of feeling, and that you dont feel things like kicking for maybe even a few weeks after that. I could be wrong.. But would love to hear your thoughts.....?

i have felt lots of flutters and wiggles of the baby moving position, its not gas as some people will cry till there blue in the face that its gas! i remember what my DD felt like and its the same. i think if you are in tune with your body then you can feel these things earlier on and if you have had previous pregnancies then you know what your looking out 4. im hoping it wont be too long till i get a big old boot in the tum because thats when the fun really starts haha! xx

Same here - I started feeling movement with my first around 15-16 weeks, my second at 12 weeks and my third (this pregnancy) at 10 weeks. It was confirmed when I had an ultrasound at 10 weeks and the movement I was feeling could be seen on the screen. It is very subtle and can very easily be missed. I usually only feel it when I am sitting still for a while or laying down.

I definitely think the reason I can feel it is because I know what I am looking for - otherwise, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I agree with gina and ive felt the first tiny movements today, I'd been sitting for a while watching a film with DS and I felt it. I've had really bad wind (tmi!) for a few days and it def wasn't wind. I could tell the diff this time as it makes my tummy flip and I feel a little weird when it happens...it feels like it's moving from one side to the other just above my knocker line. I have DS but this is my third pg so I can tell the diff this time.

hehehe tracy ann if it was just above your knocker line id be very worried for you! that would be 1 hell of a big baby! xx

This is my 3rd baby and I've felt him/her for a week or so now no big kicks just fluttery movements :)

im sure i felt chicken move this morning i thought i was going mad!! i felt the popcorn/ fluttering yesterday and then again today. but today i had the doppler on and heard it and felt it move at the same time. i know i felt movement im not mad lol. this is second pregnancy too.

It is very possible. It all depends on how in tune you are with your body. I have been able to feel mine for the past couple of days, explained this to my sister-in-law what I was feeling who is also pregnant right now with 3rd and she said that is deffinitely baby. It is not gas as I know how that feels with me.

With DS I started feeling almost constant movement at around 14 weeks, but I remember I was probably about 10 weeks when I felt the first bit of fluttering. I'd been laying in bed when I felt it, then just thought I was crazy. Around 13 weeks, I had my hand on my stomach and felt a massive KICK, and then after that, he was all over the place jumping around. I'm hoping that I can feel movement as early this time, because it was one of my favorite things about being pregnant.:flower:

I felt something today but IDK if it was movement. felt like a flutter specifically at one area. Soooo.... i poked it and it fluttered again... no idea if it was gas since this is my first baby but it was definately where my uterus is lying (since it feels hard now where my uterus has pushed up a bit). Im pretty thin too so I guess it could be possible?

I def think I felt mine last night....wasnt gas as when I have the gas feeling usually a few mins later I have gas and that is a popping feeling lol! but I woke up in the middle of the night and was laying on my tummy and I felt all this weird..gurgly flipping for about 5 secs almost and then it was gone....and no gas..I have a feeling mine is moving mostly at night lol..hope I dont have one of those day/night reversed babies lol...

well since feeling the funny fluttery feeling it now just doesnt seem to disappear so I definately can feel it and im really surprised! im only 12 weeks 6 days but its DEFINATELY where the baby was seen on the scan lol! Feels like bubbly twitchyness in the same area.

It only appears when im sitting down relaxing and thats when i'll notice it loads :S !! This is my first baby too :S am i weird?

I had first sensations around 8/9 weeks and thought it must be wind. I knew where my baby was 'anchored' and was convinced that it was different to the wind. scan at 11 weeks and the sonographer located the baby in exactly the same spot :-) Ive always wondered that i was feeling something. It was only when i was laid still at night, now I can feel it more clearly and sometimes when sitting still as well, getting much easier to differentiate between that and wind.

i could feel things early on with my LO and deff movement regularly from about 14 weeks i hope i feel it sooner this time
