My boss who im close to has just bin told her great nephew has strep b meningitis. She is so upset as u can imagion. She is so close to her niece who gave birth and dotes on her and her 1st baby girl. My boss has bin a great support to myself throughout my own pregnancy after having bad complication n threats at 13 weeks n again at 18 weeks at which i was diagnosed as a strep b carrier. I now feel grateful that i know im a carrier and now im getting treatment at labor etc.. My bosses niece did not know she was and it was a c. Section. I work in the medical profession and so no a bit more than the average person about bacteria and my poor boss is so worried. I feel a strong emotional attachment to the situation and i feel crushed, i just wish that strep b screening was routine. Bless all of us with good health and may this baby make a good recovery. X

Its not routine??? It is in most OB offices here. Man I'll be praying for that little boy. It should defintely be a routine thing.

Im in UK, my friend asked for and paid for a test, she was a carrier and she got treatment in labour and so did baby after the birth. I wouldnnt have known you could if she hadnt told me.
Hope the wee boy is ok xx
