Im currently switching from BF to FF and the weather is 42 degrees here tomorrow

Do i need to give my little girl some cool boiled water? Any idea on how much to give?

Anyone?

Yes you can give her water - but not too much. Personally i would give maybe 1oz between feeds? but then we have only had HOT weather here when LO was born lol so im not the best person to answer x

Unless you think she's getting dehydrated, even in hot weather you shouldn't give too much water. It can throw off their electrolytes. I felt more comfortable giving DD pediatric electrolyte solution like Pedialyte over water when she was under 6 months.

How would i know she needs water and is suffering from dehydration?

Dry lips, and if you press the skin on her chest it should go white and then the blood should come back almost immediately (less than 2 seconds).

I give my LO cooled boiled water too.

xx

If it's going to be that hot, I'd probably offer a little. The only important thing is not to overdo it.

I'd offer 1-2oz between feeds, spread throughout the day. That amount wouldn't do any harm even if it wasn't hot.
