First birthday present help?!

What toys did your babies enjoy at around 12-18months? It's my nephews first birthday in March and I have no idea what to get him! I'm looking for something around the £30-£40 mark x

Some ideas ....

Mega bloks
Drawing stuff .. crayons etc
Toot toot drivers range
Wooden train sets ... brio does a really good 1st train set which you can later extend
Also the Happyland play sets are nice for that age

ETa - forgot to add the Aquadoodle

Happyland lights and sounds or similar. Mega bloks in any form. Wooden activity cube. Ride on toy like a scuttlebug.

All these have been huts with my boys 1-2. Check with parents before you buy though so you don't clash.

I can't remember prices and everything he had as it was over two years ago now but for my sons 1st birthday he had..

Lights and sounds tractor & fire engine - both from ELC. He had some bath toys which I'm sure were from ELC as well
Fisher price activity walker
V tech activity table
He also had a shape shorter that was a bus, not sure where from though

My LO got a bounce and spin zebra which he loved from 13-20 months x

Toot toot garage and cars, my LO LOVES this, he has the parking tower and squeals with excitement every time a car goes down there about £25 per set

he also loves shape sorters and little cars and balls.
