First day of mat leave.....

Well Im not technically on mat leave yet am on holiday for a fortnight first. But..... what do I do with my time???? I know this has been asked a million times but Im at a loss. Dont get me wrong I have loads to do but Im a bit overwhelmed with it all. After Fridays little scare I know my bag needs sorting properly, the house needs cleaning, I want to sort the kids rooms but I dont know where to start . Im also scared as Im now off work for 9 months WTF 9 months???? I havent been off for that long since before I had DS 8yr ago and then I went back to Uni after about 8wk. I think it has just suddenly hit me I am actually having a baby OMG!!!!!

I start Mat Leave today, I've gotten dressed and had some breakkie but thats it so far.

Ive not even got dressed properly yet just threw my trackys on to take the kids to school .

I start next Wednesday with same as you....annual leave.
I'm off today coz I have a chesty cough Typical I could have got ill next week instead!

I plan to empty my kitchen cupboards and give them all a right good clean, wash dry, iron and put away all Beany Boy's clothes etc

For the first few weeks of my leave (I started at 27 weeks haha!) I gutted my house, cleaned from top to bottom, organised everything I could get my hands on... now I do my daily cleaning routine and spend the rest of my day on facebook/world of warcraft!

I wanted to do some baby washing today but its raining so gonna have to put that one on hold as Ive got loads of our stuff to do lol.

Ive not even got dressed properly yet just threw my trackys on to take the kids to school .

I'm lucky in that respect, my boy is 12 and the school is 2 minutes away. He walks, or takes his bike.

I havent yet briuhed my hair or teeth though.

Have done the teeth but not my hair, its to be hoped no-one comes to visit lol

Rest. If you get a day where you feel slightly energetic do your hair n make up n make yourself feel nice. Last time I was on mat leave I used to do that, then take pictures n send them to my fiancé at work ha. I did that loads now I think about it. He loved it tho xx

It's my first day of mat. leave too. I don't really have any plans except vague ideas of tidying, cleaning and watching tv.
Oh, and if you don't need to go out, then there's no need to be dressed yet! ; 0

I'm thinking if I get really bored I may go to bingo...just for summat to do.

eta - oh blimey, it seems the bingo is open from 1130am!! And the chap said its either free or £7.50 lol no idea how that works haha but I may go.

It's my first day of mat leave too today. I've had a shower, watched T.V. and done the washing up. Think that's it for today :rolf: I may do some ironing later - who knows. On the list for tomorrow is making flapjacks for hospital snacks, sorting out the hospital bag (it's packed but I just threw everything in there, not even sure what I put in!!!!) and more watching T.V.!!!!

Use the time to do all the things you won't have time to do when baby arrives. Have a nice long bath when you like. Read a book for hours (if you enjoy doing so). Go for a manicure/pedicure or even a massage treatment (I live for these). If nothing else just put your feet up and relax!

lol the old dears do get upset dont they? I got a 'same old faces' shouted at me when I won, which I thought was hilarious, I have been to Oxford Gala bingo twice in my life and today was the 2nd time, and indeed the 1st time during the day!

Lol yep Ive heard there are some serious bingo'ers out there that dont like it. Nice one on your win though Well I ended up going to town and doing 3 loads of washing, wore me out that much I had a 2hr kip after ...... now.... what to do tomorrow

My first day of mat leave today (well 2 weeks hol first)
I have not stopped and have over done it, now have a sore back
I was in tesco doin the food shop at 7am as couldnt sleep , B&Q for 8.30am for paint
Cleaned kitchen until 10am and then painted the whole of the kitchen, been for a bath washed hair and now im ready for bed lol

we have been decorating the house whcih has kept me busy, now i have nothing in my diary,today is the first quite day...

i just sat on my lap top all day... might play Sims later... might clean all the windows... might not ..... !!! god im bored !!!!

ive been off on the sick since the 18th june!!!! dont officially start mat keave til the beg of Nov, well supposidly but the baby will be here before then so god knows when I will start mat leave. We bought a house and moved in the end of April and because of the move there is no clutter in the house tidy and all the rooms have been decorated so apart from the school run with my 5 year old ant 9am thenn get her at 3pm I have not alot to do!!!! I normally do all the house work at night and the house sits perfect all day so I watch tv or nap sometimes, I have a hospital appoinment every Mon and the midwife on a Wed but apart from that nothing
