Today AF arrived, a day late, making it 23 months off ttc baby #2.

I wish I could find the words to describe how heartbroken I am but I wouldn't even know where to start honestly.

Fortunately I have a fertility appointment this Monday and of course I'm looking forward to it. I just wanted to know some other experience and what your first appointment/consultation was like? Im pretty sure it will be mostly of getting to know my cycles and history I just wanted to hear some other experiences.

Also, if anyone would like to tell me about the 2nd/3rd etc appointments were like.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @TTC im currently 14dpiui and unfortunately I got a bfn this am, however still no AF.

I too have an appointment on the to discuss my next steps with my RE. Im thinking about going on to IVF and im going to discuss that with her on Feb.3rd. My suggestions to you is to make sure you have all the questions you need to ask ready. and don't be afraid to ask too many, it can be a bit overwhelming but don't get discouraged. its unfortunate we have to go through so much to conceive, but keep positive thoughts. wishing you all the best.

I went to my first Appointment after a year TTC.

They ask a lot of the expected medical history questions of course.

For me I had never been pregnant so the scheduled me for a foam test (kinda like a dye test but less painful) to check that my tubes were open. I guess they may do a similar test on you even though you have had a child, just to make sure there are no polyps, fibroids or scar tissue giving blockages.

They also sent me for blood work to check hormones.

My husband was ordered to do a sperm analysis & also blood work.

So our testing all came back fine but hubbys counts weren't great. They said that's normal did a second test and they were much better (anxiety I guess the first time)

So basically she offered us to keep trying naturally or move on to IUI.

We chose IUI with clomid.

I can tell you that if there are any polyps of sorts they often do a D & C to clear it away.

Thanks ladies for you responses!
At first I was really depressed about having to go to a fertility specialist but I've come to terms with it. Iloveme29 I hope everything goes well with your appointment to discuss IVF. Keep me updated !

Mrsberries thanks for you experience. That really gives me an idea on what to expect. I'm hoping we can get a natural BFP but at this point I'm getting impatient. If you don't mind me asking for you iui and clomid how much did it cost you guys?

For me my insurance covers unlimited iui's so I'm not sure of the cost

That's awesome!!

Unfortunately we will be paying out of pocket since our insurance doesn't cover anything to do with fertility  .

I think I will try to do one cycle naturally with the fertility clinic but after that I will discuss iui with my husband.
