Hello Ladies,
I am still a bit shocked and somewhat in disbelief! I went to the Dr a couple of months ago to have another scan that revealed PCOS. I ask to be referred and they agreed. I thought I was being referred to an endocrinologist - no one told me any different.
I had my apointment today and wondered why everyone was with their partners in the waiting room but me, and when I was called in was informed I had actually been referred to a fertility specialist and that my GP should have told me to bring me OH, as he would need to have a semen analysis. She was asked me all these questions, how long weve been trying etc. She did an internal, which was great having started my period yesterday. She said all was ok, and gave me a form and pot for OH to have fun with.
She then said as I was a new "case" she would go and speak to the head consultant, and go from there. She came back in and said I would need 5, 8 and 21 day bloods and has given me an appointment for an HSG. I have been given another appointment to go back in 3 months time.
Is this the usual course of action? I am a bit scared of this HSG thing. I thought I was going to be speaking to someone about the PCOS, get given some pills and everything would be fine.
Feel a bit silly for being a wuss, but I am currently out of a job (was being bullied at my last one so gave it up) and all of these appointments would go down well with whoever will next want to employ me, and all of this today has made me feel like nothing works in me and has made me think things are a lot more serious than anyone has told me before. (I guess it didnt help that when I told OH, he said "why are they testing me, its you that has the problem", which I know he didnt mean but really upset me)
What are they likely to do after this?
Thank you for listening to me whine, just a bit taken back by it all
Laura
