First Midwife Appointment

I have my first midwife appointment in a couple of weeks. I was wondering how likely it was that s/he'd be able to listen to the heartbeat?

They're based at the local GP.

I'm trying to decide whether to take hubby along to this one, or not. I don't want him to miss out on hearing that!!

I was the same! I rang and asked if there were any opportunities to hear heartbeats/see a scan and they said no, so I went by myself. Just lots of questions on health, where to give birth - useful but DH wouldn't have had much to do!

First midwife appointment is usually loads of questions and background info. My midwife never even checked me over. From memory i don't think you get to hear the heartbeat till about 16wks.
