First period after baby

Bun is 10 months old almost and AF still hasn't shown up
We have wanted to TTC for months now, but I am thinking I might have to wait until Bun is completely weaned before anything. He sleeps through the night (8-10 hour stretch) and only bf 3x total during the day. I have had cramping (AF-style) for 2 weeks now and nothing, but maybe I am scrutinizing too much. Any suggestions??

I don't want to wean Bun just so we can TTC as that seems so selfish, but we are so anxious to get going with Beanie #2!!! Did you ladies have a few weeks of cramping before AF showed up?? Any other signs?? Thanks!

I had ZERO signs before my first AF with DS1. Just went to the bathroom and saw blood. That was it. He was 8 months old at the time.

This time I had an AF at 7 weeks pp, and another 1 month later, and its been 2 months more now, and nothing.

I had no signs either. It just came from nowhere really. I've seen some women on here TTC even without periods coming back.

I was wondering the same question. LO is almost 8 months old and still nothing. I also get cramping once in a while but no other sign. And I only BF twice a day now.

your gonna OV before AF arrives so you can play the game now and see what happens if you want lol you might be lucky and not have any af and get preg

i got mine back last month and im now TTC. i had cramping for a few weeks and even wrote about it in this section and then one day it was there, so hopefully its a good sign! i got it about 6 weeks after she started sleeping through the night as she was still feeding around 2am, and now just has morning and bed time feeds.

Yes - I have been cramping for a few weeks - it is driving me nuts! I even went out and bought a test because cramping was my biggest pg symptom. Not pg though (dang! I was kinda hoping...)

cleckner04 - We have been TTC since April LOL... I hope we catch that first OV before AF hits, but we didn't think it would take so long for AF! LO has been sleeping through since then...

I've been wondering the same thing myself. DD is 9 1/2 months old and nothing!! I've done about 15 opks in the last 8 months, just wondering if I'm close to the ovulation or not. The last time there was a faint pink line, so I'm hoping something happens soon. I'd like to TTC soon as well, but it looks like I'll have to wean completely in order to. I love bf and wasn't planning to stop just yet, but if AF doesn't return I'll look at weaning when she's 1 yr old.

Was considering the same thing - weaning at a year. But I don't know if I'll be able to do it!!

I've been having cycles of cm since April and then had tonnes of pg symptoms on and off since July. I had some random 2 day bleeding/spotting last week and then nothing more. So random!

I had some cramping and was a crazy loon (completely unreasonable for a good few days before), then it all made sense a few days later. That was only a couple of months after birth and i'm more regular now than when we were TTC! Ha ha!

I have had cramping and other signs (spots and extremely sore nipples!) for the last few weeks and just got my AF today.... Have been BF for 5 1/2 months and started weaning Lani 3 weeks ago - although am still doing 2 night feeds!! So going by what others say - completely random! It is possible to ovulate without AF though, especially when BF according to my doctor though! He said to look for other signs such as increased CM etc...

I got AF for the first time last night, exactly 7 months after I went into labor with Ronan, down to the hour. Bizarre! I never had any warning or sign of its pending arrival.

I just got AF yesterday - my LO is 8 months old and nurses 4 times/day plus once overnight usually. I did suspect ovulation a couple weeks back (due to loads of EWCM and spots) so I was keeping an eye out for AF
