Hey everyone....a little history, I have Graves Disease (hyperthyroid), irregular periods, high FSH, etc. My husband and I were NTNP for 2 years, then actively started trying.

At our appointment last night, we had a few tests.

Hubby - super sperm. 49 million post-wash with 61% motility. The fertility specialist actually used the word "superior" several times, much to my husband's delight. The last 24 hours he has been impossible to live with LOL.

Me - and here are where my questions come in. First, the bad news - my FSH is 58. The good news? It WAS 90 in May. I started taking CoQ10 a few weeks ago, started at 50mg a day and gradually went up to 200mg.

I had 2 collapsed follicles, and several between 14-15mm. My progesterone level was 0.4, so I haven't ovulated yet (I'm on CD51). I go in tomorrow for another scan and more blood work, I guess to see if the follicles have grown.

My lining is 9mm.

So here are my questions - is my lining 9mm because I'm gearing up for ovulation? Is 9mm good? And if my follicles have grown, does that mean they contain eggs? Or could they be "empty" follicles? Are follicles that size (14-15mm) ever empty? I'm new to all this. My first marriage I had 3 kids and the only time I "tried" (before I knew all about this stuff) it only took 4 months. I don't understand what these numbers mean in relation to ovulation. In your opinions, do you think I will be ovulating this cycle based on these numbers, or do these numbers really mean nothing because there could be no egg?

The RE thinks my periods might be irregular not only because of the Graves but that I may have actually conceived several times and miscarried without even knowing it due to a progesterone deficiency. I have progesterone gel, but they told me not to take it yet (I guess because they don't think I've ovulated yet?).

Sorry hun I don't have any answers thought I would just pop in and wish you luck, give the thread a boost and see if anyone else had the answer.

How funny are men when they get their sperm results. My hubby pulled out his paperwork at our family BBQ to brag about his 737million :haha: Then I said yeah but only 25% are good! Hubby has a balanced translocation.

I'm not sure what you progesterone levels have to be to ovulate, but I asked the nurse last week at my scan and bloods how big did the follicle get before you ovulated, and she said anywhere between 22-24mm. Yes your follicles can be empty, I had egg collection last Wednesday and I had 20+ follicles but only got 11 eggs. Hope that helps. Good luck xx

Today's bloods showed an e2 of 94, fsh 52, lh 36. Progesterone .4 again. Follicles 20.7 and 15.6.

They said my e2 should be higher - and my progesterone is low, so no ovulation yet. But if the 20 mm follicle is empty, is 94 e2 good for a 15mm one?

From what I have read your e2 level should be between 500-1000 per follicle. My level 2 days before egg collection was over 10,000 and my nurse said I would have been around 12,000 at egg collection.

Where are you in your cycle?

I have irregular cycles. I'm cd52.

Wow CD52 you poor thing. Have they said anything to you that your follicles are progressing nicely?

I could imagine, sending you lots of :hugs:

When is your next scan and bloods?

I did have some twinges of pain (similar to when they press on your ovary during the transvaginal us) on my left side today, for what it's worth.

I have everything crossed for you that there is a nice eggy growing strong and you catch it this month.

TTC is so frustrating!! Hubby and I TTC for 4years (8mcs) and then were told to go to IVF due to hubby's BT.

We don't want ivf. We each have kids, and just wanted one together. It wouldn't be fair to our other kids to spend that much money on a hope - our insurance covers iui but not ivf.
