Has anyone got any quick and easy lunch or dinner fish recipes. I'm not a big seafood fan but want to let Lo try it.
For very very quick lunch I give fishfingers! I also make sure when we have salmon I do enough for leftovers. Salmon recipes: Dollop a bit of pesto on, spread, wrap in tinfoil and bung in oven. 15-20 mins an it's done Salmon spread with philly sprinkled with breadcrumbs in oven not wrapped again 15-20 mins Tuna Mixed with pasta, Philly and sweetcorn as pasta salad Tuna fishcakes That's all I've tried now. When we TW I just cooked salmon in butter in the oven and mashed that up a bit and mixed it in with his purée!
Thanks, those are great ideas. I'm rubbish at coming up with recipes if its ingredients I don't eat. I've made him fishcakes and he liked them, but had no clue what else to make.
You could cook some white fish like cod, make a cheese sauce and top with mash potatoe, mini fish pie! I'd mix peas in it too for my lo. Or I'd flake salmon into pasta with a tomato sauce.
I bake tilapia in the oven for lo. I just sprinkle a little olive oil and lemon juice and bake it for 20 min. He will usually eat 1/3 of the fish and then the rest I freeze into portions for another day.
Hi, sorry this is a smelly recipe but little one loves it! Mackeral in tomato sauce(comes in a tin) - I heat it in microwave Couscous - takes 5 mins Tuna, philly soft cheese, pasta, broccoli and cheese
I've done mackerel (tinned) added to mash potato (using whole milk) and cheese. I made enough to fill up 4 empty (large cow and gate) baby food jars plus LOs lunch that day using just one tin! LO loves it and it's not too offensive-I dislike fish in general! Lol
Thanks for the ideas ladies. He's had tuna mixed with philly in a baked potato, tuna in pasta with sweetcorn, fish cakes tonight, and with the other half of the fish I've made a fish pie for tomorrow. Hes really enjoyed them all so far. Think I'll try the mackerel next!!
Yummy! This thread is making me hungry. Think I'll do a fish and mashed potato concoction tonight for the sprogs.
