folic acid and clomid

hiya
im due to start taking clomid in the few few weeks and im just wondering if any of u have took clomid and ur experiences
shud i start taking folic acid now or wait to c if i get pg xx

no, you can start taking it beforehand, it is advised that you do actually

not by everyone, my FS doesn't prescribe it unless your bloodwork shows you need it
but he's not against it either, if we feel better taking it, then we can go ahead

i used to take it before but after ntnp for so long i kinda stopped takin it
i may start taking it again tho xx

I think 3 months before TTC is recommended. The extra high doses are by docs perscription usually but 400 mg is fine to take on your own along with a prenatal. Especially, if you have been on the pill as it depletes your folic acid stores.

Yup 3 months before, and I believe the recommended dose is 800mg.
