Follicle Tracking

Hello ladies

So I am on cycle 11 ttc and 1st cycle clomid-no problems with me or hubby after all tests done but this BFP seems to be taking a while!

So my FS suggested clomid-I am cd 11 and having tracking. I had it on Monday and today-she didnt say much other than all looks fine and when to come back. Today she mentioned there were 2 small follicles on the left and 1 large on the right and to come back Friday.

Anyway, I was wondering if that seems ok at this stage? I thought clomid may produce more? I know I need to know how big they are and I will ask this on Friday-I am trying to be fairly relaxed about it.....

My cycles are usually about 32 days and a little irregular (ie 31-35 days) but I thought the clomid may bring ovulation sooner? I would LOVE shorter cycles lol!!

So we are just dtd every other day at mo-is that about right?

Any advice etc much appreciated x x x

I'm on cycle 2 clomid, 50mg didnt work didnt produce any large follicles at all only small ones, I had my cd 10 follicle tracking last thursday and she said I had 2 follicles growing, went back on cd14 which was monday and both of them were ready to pop in the coming days and today cd16 is my second day with +opks... I was really worried that I wasnt even going to ovulate even though I had follicles, so dont stress ot too much, clomid is known for delaying ovulation, before I was diagnosed with pcos and before I was on the pill my cycles were 28days but with clomid it looks like they are going to be 30+ days so yeah there is still plenty of time for those follicles to get growing

Thanks hun-I thought clomid was supposed to make cycles shorter?! My friend who has PCOS said hers went from 60+days to 28. I was kinda hoping mine would do the same. Do you have PCOS then? I hope I am not on it for too long-feeling rubbish. Oh well, I will ask the nurse on Friday for measurements and when it looks like I may ovulate and we'll see! Yeah I have pcos, been anovulatory since I came off the pill last october! So 100mg Clomid has given me a cycle finally!! So im no help when it comes to if it shortens them because i didnt even have one for over a year! lol! Today is the first time in over a year and a half that I have ovulated and the fiance is away!!!! typical! Good luck when you go back huni and dont worry even if they havent grown loads by then, next time they will be completely perfect! xxx

Dont know if this helps but im on cycle 2 of 50mg clomid. i usually have 26 day cycle and on cd 16 follicle tracking said 1 large follicle ov in 48 hrs.

(usually get +opk on cd 14) so defo delayed ov'ing.

i was shocked to get AF cd 24 meaning my LP was just a measly 6 days. i am not happy but maybe it will be different 4 u.

this mth im not doing opks or tracking. just dtd every 2-3 days. good luck hun.

Thanks ladies-I went back this morning and saw the consultant this time-I have a couple little ones but one at 14mm and another at 17mm on left so she thinks I will ovulate with this one over next couple of days. Lining was 9.5mm so I think that is good. She said it all looked 'beautiful'! It will have shortened my cycle by a few days if I ov over wkend. I know this doesnt mean i will get pg but at least I am responding to the clomid! x

Not too good I am afraid. I went back on Mon and she said i still hadnt ov'd so to come back on Wed as she thought it would happen mon or tues. Went back yesterday and it is still there and 28mm! She didnt seem to concerned and said it will come when it is ready. However, I looked on net after and I dont think 28mm is good as it may be deemed 'too big' to have a good egg in it. This seems to differ as some say they cant tell this until they see the egg and as long as the lining is ok-mine was 9mm on Friday...

I would love it if someone could help me with this but no one seems to know really. I am worried that it has just turned into a cyst and its a wasted month. I dont know why the clomid would do this? We have bd at least every other day throughout the cycle and I am exhausted! I just feel tired of it all at the moment...

I am having another scan tomorrow so will let you know how I get on x

The problem is that with ovulation no one - even the dr - knows. They can't pinpoint when you O or even guarantee that you did afterward. They can only made educated guesses with the scans and bloodwork. So if they are in the dark we certainly are screwed!

Hi cottonlily-what do you mean? That I may have ovulated already? Wouldnt the follicle have gone if that was the case?

I appreciate they cant say for definate each cycle but all blood tests have come back good so far so would indicate that I do-plus I have been pregnant before, but that was a long time ago now.....

I just want to see what they say tomorrow!!x

KittyCat - Did they offer to do an HCG trigger shot? My specialist told me that if they see a follicle that is of good size, they will give me a shot to trigger ovulation. Was this an option for you?

Hi-well I went to hospital this am and its gone so it wasnt a cyst afterall, just a large follicle. I think it was about 28mm when I ovulated. I understand that ideal is 20-26mm but clomid can make you produce larger follicles and my FS said she was not concerned in the slightest! She said there was fluid there which apparently you produce after ovulating. Had to have blood tests today and next week. We'll see anyway! let us know how you get on x
