When i was younger i got badly sun burnt on my boob n it turned into this freckly patch on my boob. Anyway recently one of the freckly bit turned darker so after tons of nagging from my dad I went to docs was refered to hosp n had to have it removed. Then this morning I have recieved another appointment in a couple of weeks at the cancer clinic at my local hosp!? My dad n gdad had to have a mole removed n they just got a letter 3 months on to say nothing was found?

Would you be worried or do you think its routine?

:flower:

it could just be routine hun. i had to have a mole checked on my boob before and they didn't want to remove it because of the place it was in. as i'd be left with a really big scar (it's huge lol!) i have to go in every few months or so to get it checked for any changes or anything. i would take a picture to show you what it looks like but my phones out of battery!

i wouldn't worry too much. maybe give them a call and see if you can find out what you have to go in for? x

Yer the letter just says an outpatient appointment. Hmm very bizzare! x

Personally I would give them a ring, explain that I didnt quite understand what the appointment was for and didnt want to spend the next couple of weeks being anxious and could they tell me what the appointment is for..I am very impatient though lol.x

outpatient appointments are normally just check ups hun. just to make sure you haven't got a raging infection or something that could've been cause by the removal :haha:

you will be fine. xx

If this is the first appointment following the removal of the freckle/mole then its most probably the follow up after they sent the sample off for testing. When I had some cells removed and they sent off the biopsy, they told me my follow up would be in the oncology department and I was petrified but apparently its normal procedure. Try not to worry. x :hugs:
