I am currently 4 dpo. I had an uncontrolable urge to poas today and knew it would be a waste to use my only hpt so decided to use an opk as I have convinced myself I won't need them next month:haha:
I got a decent line, not positive, but clearly visable. This is my first month using opks and I don't know if this is normal. Should it be blank? It's not dark like my positive (which I backed up with a digi).
Is it possible I didn't O when I thought? FF is pretty sure I O'd on cycle day 15. I have O symptoms and was fairly certain myself. I even got a thermal shift. My cervix is closed now and my cm is no longer fertile.
Should I worry? Oh I wish I had resisted the urge. That'll teach me:wacko:

Hi jodi_19, I think you got a little line on your OPK because your hormone levels are still dropping from ovulation 4 days ago. Because before I would ovulate I would get several days with lines but they werent necesarily darker than the control. It takes a while for hormone level to rise and then leave. If you did get a positive OPK 4 days ago you probably did ovulate. :) Good luck!

If the line isn't darker than or as dark as the control line it counts as a -tive. Some ladies get a 'fade in, fade out' pattern around ovulation, which will start as and go back to just the control line and others will have two lines of varying intensity present through the entire cycle.

I did my first OPK today to see what a -tive would look like for me and I only got the control line. I'd say you probably did Ov on CD15.

I'm sure you did O when you thought you did... the thermal shift basically confirms it. As for lines on the OPKs.. they can get darker at many points, doesn't mean anything significant until its positive though.

(and its too early for the OPK to be picking up any HCG, but they CAN turn positive when you are pregnant - not more sensitive than HPTs though so they kind of just drive you nuts during the 2ww)

Thanks for the help ladies! And CONGRATS lisaf!!
