Hi ladies, my lo is currently breech and I've got an appointment to see if they can try and turn bump on thurs.

I've been warned that if bump gets into distress I've been warned I'll be taken down for an emergency c-sec. My question is and sorry if it's a bit personal, but how soon after having a c-sec did you start your pp bleeding? Was it pretty much immediately, several hours after or a day etc?

Also, if it doesn't work, the dr's are wanting e to have a c-sec due to me having a fibroid and it's size. But we'll see how Thursday goes first.

When I had my dd I had a vaginal birth so now that it's immediate from that kind of delivery, but with a c-sec I haven't got a clue.

I've got loads of big granny pants from last time round and am sorted clothes wise too.

Thanks ladies. :)

hi you start bleeding straight away hun, baggy bottoms and big pants are great over pump stuff because you don't want anything digging in scar. hope all goes ok x

i had a c section last year in may- i started bleeding a few hours after surgery but it only lasted 4 days ( i spent 5 days in the hopsital just because where i am at the normal stay time) and i had stopped bleeding by the time i was discharged, i did tend to spot like 1-2 days a week but it wasnt even enough to need a pantie liner it was only when i wiped went to go to bathroom.

i dont know when i started bleeding, as couldnt stand up so nurses cleaned me, it was within a few hours i think. i only bled for 2 days and that was more like spotting, as they vaccum a lot of it out. ive actually had heavier periods :)

Yep besides the incision..... everything is very much the same ass vaginal delivery during recovery. And typically you wont bleed as long.

I had mine on Wednesday, the bleeding now is like the end of a period! Don't be alarmed when you get up and blood comes out either, it's totally normal! Wish I knew that lol

I don't want to scare you but I had a c-section with my last child 6 years ago. As she was breech, they tried to turn her but it never worked. also I would never let them try and turn again if I was ever breech as I found it really painfull.
I hope all works out well for you xx

Just as everyone else has said, right away. Your uterus will be contracting to shrink back down, and they will likely help push on it when they check you, which will be uncomfortable after the c-section, but it is necessary (it isn't that bad!). But with the contracting it will help flush blood and stuff out, so you will still have the bleeding that you would with a vaginal delivery.

I bled longer after the c-section than I do during my period, I would say at least a full week to a week and a half...it's been a bit different with all of my c-sections...(I will be having my 4th c-section when I have this baby)

started bleeding straight away, I can remember the midwife pumping my tummy to get some blood out, ( thank god I was still numb )

it didn't even last the 6 weeks as people say only about 2 :)

When you first get up to move after, I was advise about 2 maternity towels OR the tena men huge pads, BRILLIANT, as you do tend to gush and have a few clots, if there are some bigger then a 50p then make sure you let the midwife know xx

Thanks ladies. I have a rough idea of what to expect again if I'm lucky enough to have another vaginal delivery, but wasn't sure what to expect if I do need to have a c-sec and new you lovely ladies would come to my rescue.

After having my dd, I was lucky and didn't bleed for very long with her and wasn't very heavy either.
