LOOK AT MY NEW SIGGY!

Livi's been mostly FF since about 4 weeks old and only breast feeding at night and early morning. But now that my water allergy is semi-manageable I've been able to breast feed more often.

I wasn't even trying to get her back to breast because I figured at 5 months old there's really no point. It'll never happen. But Livi actually got HERSELF off formula! She just wouldn't take a bottle anymore and would only nurse. So I didn't fight it. And now my milk supply is back up and she's only taking a bottle if she's having trouble sleeping (cause I'll admit the formula does make her sleep better) or if I'm out, which isn't very often.

I didn't want to say anything because I figured it was just a phase but it's been over a month now and she isn't showing any signs of going back.

And for those of you who know the drama that goes on between my mom and I over feeding Livi, I'm proud to say she's backed off for the most part. It seems that we unspokenly compromised because since I've been breast feeding she's been feeding Livi her breakfast (homemade fruit cereal! ) And sometimes her dinner. I suppose with my mom that's about as good as it gets, really. I am not a morning person at all, so I will admit that it's nice having someone else feed Livi while I feed myself.

Thats awesome! I wish I could go back to BFing too...if only Arianna's doctors would fix her tongue tie, thats what kept her from BFing in the first place, ugh.

Thats awesome! I wish I could go back to BFing too...if only Arianna's doctors would fix her tongue tie, thats what kept her from BFing in the first place, ugh.

Yeah, I've got an "undiagnosed sensitivity to water" as they're calling it now. It's only started 4 years ago and progressively gotten worse to the point where I can't touch the condensation of a cold glass of water because my skin gets super dry and painful and I break out in hives.

They've thought it was a couple different things, but none of the treatments worked. I'm hitting all the markers for an actual H2O allergy except that I am okay to ingest water, I just can't touch it, and it was dormant for about 13 years. My doctors have no idea what's wrong with me so they're treating it like an H2O allergy with water restrictions and special soaps and lotions. I have to take half a does of an antihistamine before a shower and half a dose after I get out to help with the hives.

Yep. Leave it to me to have the freak allergy

Not really, although it does make for some interesting arguments since my mom seems to forget half the time.

So she'll try to be a smart ass by saying something like "What, are you allergic to doing the dishes?" And I can't help but look smug when I say "Why yes, I am actually!"

aww im happy for you! it must be amazing to be able to do cause youve wanted it for so long ... and i wish someone could feed JJ in the mornings for me, poor kid must think its normal to grunt all morning

Aww good for you Ally! I bet you were so excited.
I remember after Kenny's surgery he wouldn't breastfeed AT ALL, I was so depressed for like a week because he couldn't do it. Then we tried again and he was able to it was one of the best feelings in the world! So happy for you!

Aw, he won't fix it? Why not?

He says its not serious enough to fix but she couldn't latch well with it and would always slip off, even with the bottle, shes the loudest sucker because she slips off the nipple. Plus she sucks in loads of air doing it. I have told him that many times but he doesn't listen, thankfully he isnt our pediatrician, just the specialist with tied tongues in the office. I'll just have to tell the doctor I do like my concerns once again.
