Freaking out

i just discovered people miscarry even up 2 30+ weeks my mum said b4 she had me she miscarried a lil girl at 28 weeks

i thought i was safe at 20 weeks but now it looks like im not going to feel safe till hes out and in my arms alive and well

i cant believe you can lose your baby at any time

I wouldn't worry too much, hun. Your baby is already viable!

After 20 weeks it's not considered a miscarriage I don't think, it's considered a premature birth. It is possible but it's very rare, and babies are considered viable at 24 weeks. So just look at the positives. My OH's cousin had a baby at 25 weeks and he's now a healthy 8 year old

Here's a little bit of advice that it took me a long time to realize. I was so worried about losing my daughter through my whole pregnancy and everybody kept telling me "it's so rare that it happens, etc." but then I'd come on here and a lot of the girls I'd see would have memorial tickers for children they lost at 20+ weeks. And then I'd think "It's not that rare if all these girls suffered it."

But BnB has a loss support section, so a lot of those ladies signed up after they lost their LOs to get support from ladies that have been through it.
So it actually isn't as common as it looks on here, we've just got a more condensed population of angel mums. KWIM?

Ya at that time it's considered a premature birth but babies survive up to being born at 22 weeks they are extremely small and fragile but it still happens It's good to worry but don't overstress yourself hope that helps

i think it is less than 2% chance of loosing the baby, i am sorry that your mum had to go through that...
my brother was born at 20 weeks early and he weighed 1 pound was smaller than the size of a pen, and he is now 6 ft tall and just turned 21 the other day.
also this day and age there is so much they can do to keep the baby alive and well just means the may have to be in hospital for awhile..

but nothing is going to happen to your wee boy hun

Its very rare to loose a baby that late in pregnancy, dont worry hun even if your baby was born now he would have a good chance of survival xxx

Thanks every1 uv really put my mind at rest and i should just relax and enjoy my pregnancy.
will enjoy it more once i finish work lol
