What portion sizes should I freeze the breast milk I express? I'm hand exressing small amounts for emergencies as I exclusively feed from the breast. I have no idea how much she will need for one feed too so any advice on that much appreciated! I managed to express 2oz last night, shall I just freeze that or add to it?

I'm not gonna express properly as I want to keep feeding from the breast and not increase my supply as it's perfect for baby, it's just for the odd hour I'm away or if I get taken ill

Thanks, I need advice

I just do about 2/3oz at a time too as thats all I can manage at a time, plus dont want to waste it if she doesnt drink much - can always get more out!

I also just do it every so often...

I freeze 3oz at a time. This way I know she's getting enough and not risking thawing too much.

i express about 7 oz i just seem to have loads of milk. however i freeze it it bags of 2 or 3 oz because thats all she seems to eat at the moment and it makes me sad to see it wasted!

I freeze 3 1/2 ounces at a time. The only reason I do that amount though is because he gets bottles while I am at college on Tuesday and Thursday so I know that that is how much he takes. Maybe you could try a bottle and see how much she takes so you have a rough idea of how much she will take from a bottle and then freeze that amount.
