Hi,

I'm popping over from 1st tri. Did anyone have hcg levels that doubled at first every 48 hours and then doubled every 2.5 days instead. My current level at 5 weeks 2 days is 1439. Anyone have a similar experience and still be successful? Thanks!

I had a similar issue, mine were taking even longer then 2.5 days to double. Around 5-6 weeks my levels tested - , first level was 23425 and I think 5 days later (Can't remember exactly) it was 33514. WHen I called the nurse for my levels she didn't seem to think that was very good. I remember her asking me "have you been bleeding?" (I hadn't). It made me worry a LOT. I know after the levels go up a certain point they take longer to double, but even accounting for that, my numbers were not good in the beginning. I am 18 weeks right now with a number of very good ultrasounds - so far so good!

The lesson I took from that was, not everybody's body follows the textbook!!

Good luck with everything! Keep us updated :)

My numbers are in my signature. They seemed to double as expected:)

Thanks ladies, my number doubled every 2 days much earlier on - up to 193 then from what I can work out from there, over a gap of 6 days, it has taken 2.5 days to get to 1439. I'm waiting for my next number today to compare to the 1439 which will be over a 48 hour period. I'm so nervous!!

Mummy626, my doctor said that in 15% percent of successful pregnancies the numbers can be completely unpredictable as long as they are rising, 15% quite high I think (out o the population) maybe we're in that category!!

That's interesting! I had never come across that before, thanks for letting me know!

My number only rose by 200 so I am very likely to have a miscarriage but my doctor says miracles do happen even though my gestational sac is a week behind dates at 4.6 (with a yolk sac - strange) I think it will have to be some miracle
