After a chemical preg earlier this year we have been doing IUI's up until the beginning of this month when I said I need a break and we didn't go forth with any treatments this month (but I did take my Clomid, just didn't go in for trigger and IUI). I didn't do any ovulation testing so no idea when/ if I ovulated this month. The past couple days marks the day when I would have started testing, so after 2 negative First Response the past 2 days, this morning I got the faintest of faint (but def pink) line within the 3 min window. I tore the test apart to make sure I wasn't going nuts and it disapeared within the hour. I waited about 5 hours and went out and bought a clear blue digital, came up "not pregnant". Took another First Response 4-5 hours after that, and a white line - possibly faintly pink line showed up for about a min, then disapeared before the 3 mnis was up. Obviously the mornign test would be most accurate as it was with FMU, but I'm worried I'm going crazy. Wouldn't the digital show up as pregnant if the First response did? Any help appreciated, sorry for long post.

Hi molae,
I have heard of this before first response are apparently really bad with 'disappearing positives' hopefully this isn't the case for you hun usually when the urine passes through the test a faint line will appear this is why they say to read the test after the 3 minute mark, I have seen this happen many times now I make a point of not looking until after the 3 mins, the faint positive you say lasted an hour and then faded this could have been a positive. Maybe you ovulated later than usual this month and you are just in the early stages I would test again in a few days. A clear blue digital isn't as sensitive as a first response so I doubt it would show up on a digi yet anyway good luck hun fingers crossed :hugs:

I found this out at peeonastick.com it's got all sorts on pregnancy tests there sensitivity any defects etc very good website!!

FRER is much more sensitive than CB digital. If you saw a line then I'd say you got your bfp. If you want to be sure, what a couple days when your hcg levels would have increased. Congrats!

Thank you for your response. I am really trying to not go crazy waiting to test again. We have been wanting this for so long, and after so many expensive and painful treatments to think it's finally happening...and that is good to know that CB digital is not as sensitive, so there is still hope.

Thanks again.
