Question for you all, does your LP typically last the same amount of days month by month?

My LP is really messed up, some months I get af between 8-9dpo, others it happens within a normal limit of 12-14dpo. This month I had gotten what I thought was my BFP at 8dpo, I tested because I had some slight spotting, spotting continued through 9dpo and today AF arrived. This isn't even long enough to support a pregnancy should it occur :( I feel broken. I MC in September '12 and I am left wondering if this short LP is stealing my hopes at of a successful pregnancy. I do suffer with PCOS, but my GP was less than helpful when I went last time to ask about conception help.

Is there any natural supplements that could help lengthen my LP? I am willing to try anything to get a take home baby.

I'm so sorry for the troubles you've had :hugs: I've heard that B6 can help lengthen LP.

:dust:

Sorry you're going through this. I suffer from erratic LP's too! :growlmad: I've also heard B6 helps along with prenatal vitamins. I'm taking both, FX I'll see some change this cycle  GL!

If your cycles are more often 12-14 dpo then the short LP cycles are likely to be due to a 'dud' unfertilisable egg.

Don't panic it's normal to get the odd bad egg and get spotting and an early period. My LP is normally 11 days but sometimes I would get one which is 9 with spotting lasting a few days. I think this is a dud egg:

Read this:

'An early period is not an indication of an early miscarriage, even if you know you timed your trying perfectly. Usually it means that the egg was not fertilizable, and so progesterone was not adequately produced. This shortens your cycle. Sometimes eggs simply don't develop properly during the ovulation process. It is usually a one-month problem. If you are regularly seeing that fewer than 10 days are passing between ovulation and your period, however, it's time to be tested for a luteal phase defect.'

From this website:

https://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm

When I was TTC #1 at 35 I had one dud cycle in 7 months. At 37 trying for #2 I saw 2 in 7 months.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say that what you are experiencing is normal :)
