Fundal Height

So, I've looked at some fundal height illustrations,
and at 20 weeks, it should be at about the belly button,
but mine is about 2 cm above it.

The strange thing is, it measures 20 cm (as the doctor told me)

So do I just have a really short torso or is that illustration just showing the average location of the fundus (not sure if thats the right word)?

Thats what I thought, but it measures correct for the number of weeks I am,
but oh well, Ill just assume its a big baby ahha

im told u can measure 2 to 3 cm each way and thats normal, i was measuring 6 weeks ahead

but I'm measuring 20 cm and I'm 20 weeks, which is dead on,
so that's what I'm wondering about.

are you short hon? cause that could be why it seems to be higher, but as long as the CM measurement is right then i think theres no need to worry =] xxxx

Well, I'm not worried, I just already can't take deep breaths is all, and I don't want to be like, suffocating by 30 weeks (Ok, I know I won't suffocate, but ykwim haha)

and the funny thing is, I'm 5'7"
short for a model, tall for everyone else ha.

you must have like REALLY long legs and a short torso! lol I'm sure it'll be fine, but if you have any worrys then i would just ask the midiwife, hope all goes well lovely =] xxx

It's just a short torso. Mine is the same way. At 20 weeks it was about 2cm above the naval but the nurse said it measured 20cm exactly. She said it's just because I'm short! The 20 week/belly button thing is just a general guideline for what is average.

But I'm average-tall height.


I do have long legs though ha.

I have no hope lol I am measuring 34 weeks lol

I am 52 inches round and only 21 weeks,my baby is 2.5 pounds estimate already. BUT then all my babes are big

You really do have big babies, its already 2 pounds :]

Will get photo up for you as looks like freak show.

Amelia was 9lbs three weeks early so guess this one will be big but you never know as different sex and I am not eating half as much as I did with others.

When do they even start measuring cos no ones measured mine

I've not been measured yet and am 22 weeks. Am seeing my midwife on NYE.

Mine started measuring me at 14 weeks for some reason?
Although I've heard some don't start till after 20 weeks.
