So my grandads funeral is next monday. I've never ever been to a funeral before, have no idea how they work or anything.

We're all on strict orders NOT to wear anything overly black or formal ( black suits ect), he wants people to wear what they feel comfortable in. All the men have been ordered to wear birmingham city football shirts lol.

I have no idea what to wear? my mum just said to go in my casual jeans and a top, but i can't turn up to a funeral in a pair of jeans and a top!

I was thinking maybe a dress or something? I really don't know what to wear?

Anyone got any ideas? Im not sure if i would of had the baby by then so im not buying the outfit untill thelast minute. If anyone has any suggestions of things that arn't too formal but not too everydayish either.. id really appreciate it!

i wore a black dress and black tights and black shoes with a black flower clip in my hair x

i think a nice not over the top, dress or skirt and shirt would be nice....

Can anyone suggest any dresses in particular they think would be nice? sorry im awful at these sort of things x

Do you have anything you associate with your granddad hun? Maybe something you wore on a special occasion with him? x

Nope, nothing at all hun. Not that i can remember anyway, and if i did i highly doubt it would still fit  x

The last funeral i went to we were told not to ware black or dark clothing but i too couldent bring myself to go in jeans so i wore my smart black trousers and a bright flowery pattern top.

I'd say smart trousers and a colourful top TBH - unless you would usually wear jeans or something - I think the suggestion is that you go as you, not a dressed up you?? If that makes sense?

I got a lovely wrap around dress from my grandad's when I was pregnant. It was from Mamas & Papas. x

aww sweetheart im sorry that hes passed but just remember what we spoke about the other day.

to my nans funeral i wore grey trousers and a black shirt but i dress would be lovely something plain primark do great dresses for cheap so if u never want to wear it again u can just throw it away after

I would say that a wrap dress would probably be suitable now and you'll probably be able to wear it after the birth too.

Something like this? https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_66156_1015966_-1

Or if you're not into dresses what about some linen trousers and a loose top?
