Any gardeners out there? I'm actually looking for recommendations on trees or other long lived plants that can be planted mid winter in a temperate climate (occasional frosts of varying intensity, unlikely to snow). Doesn't have to be from seed, can be from the uh.. root ball type thing one gets from a nursery or similar. Can also be inside for a bit if necessary. I'll be planting in a large pot or half barrel as we aren't in a permanent place. In 3+ years it may go in the ground.
Fruit, decorative, etc really most things would be ok. I just want it to have a good chance of survival.
Any ideas?
