He is 19 weeks old and has been ebf. Bf been going fine no issues. He's a big baby at 17lbs already. I have tried expressing but it takes so long to get any out and I don't have 40 mins in the day to sit and do it so I decided today to try him on aptamil. I really didn't think he would take it especially with me giving it to him so I only made up 150ml and he guzzled it down so I topped him up on the breast. I'm not sure if he took it because his last feed was over 4hrs before so he was hungry as we've tried before and it's not worked. I'm hoping he will wake a bit less tonight and do some longer stints of sleep rather than every 2-3hrs!! I only plan on giving him formula once a day probably at bedtime. Has anyone else combi fed does it work ok for you and your lo? I feel guilty but at the same time relief that I can get a bit of a break. I've found becoming a mum very very hard and lonely but some of that is severe sleep deprivation!!

I've been combi feeding out of necessity from week one. I was bummed but now it's just routine. LO is gaining well and I pump and breastfeed too. You do what you gotta do for everyone's wellbeing, including your own.

I started combi feeding when LO was about 7 months and we're still going strong.

She has bottles in the day and bf first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

I did it so I could go back to work - pumping just wasn't for me.

I think it's a great thing to do if you want your LO to benefit from bf but you also get the convenience of ff.
