Did any of you have a Gender Reveal Party?

Our families are hosting one for us, and people are meant to wear blue to guess boy and pink to guess girl. I'm having a really tough time deciding if I should even choose a color to wear.

My gut instinct tells me girl, but I will be just as happy for a boy. We were told we couldn't have kids naturally, so either gender would be a welcomed miracle. What if I wear pink, and it's a boy? Or blue, and it's a girl? I'd feel awful. I'd feel like people would think I was hoping for one and got the other instead, when really either gender is fine.

So should I wear both? Have a cute shirt with a question mark made? Any ideas?

Wear purple! :) Or maybe white and have a pink and blue accessory (scarf, statement necklace, etc.) to choose from to put on after the big reveal. Sounds like a great party, have fun!

ETA: The question mark shirt is a great idea!

I would guess , you shouldn't feel bad of your guess is wrong , you know you love your baby regardless an it would be fun :)

If not I agree maybe a white Hirt with a ? And then bring something for after to show not or girl :)

We had a gender reveal party...and it was so much fun. We did not do the wear your guess shirt thing...I just made a board that people could pick whether they thought it was girl or boy and beside it was a board with all the old wives tale predictions. I wrote down that I thought we were having a boy because I really had a strong gut feeling we were but OH really thought we were having a girl. It's not that this was what we were hoping for...it was just our gut feeling. When we cut the cake and it showed a girl...I was extremely shocked!!! But can't tell you enough how happy I am! I love that we are having a little girl!!

Thanks for the replies! This gives me several different ideas and a good month to make some definite plans!

I also learned today that my mom (who will be the only one to know the gender ahead of time for planning) is having me a shirt made to wear AFTER the gender is revealed, so I may just go with a white shirt with a question mark on it to wear beforehand. My next door neighbor runs a shop and makes them. :D

Hi, iv never heard of this before, i'm going to sound silly but how does this work? Is it your oh doing the gender reveal :)

I did one, too. Loved it! I wore pink and blue (by accident, actually, because we weren't really doing that kinda thing) and it was really fun. We had cupcakes and everyone bit into them at the same time. We also did the old wives tale game, which was a big hit. Mostly, people were happy to be there and see me and be a part of it.

Secret, though? We knew the gender. Found out at the ultrasound, but no one else knew.

I had one, and I was convinced it was a boy and wore blue. It was a girl, and the shock on mine and OHs faces is just priceless! I have a video of it in my pregnancy journal (in signature).

It honestly was so super cool! Its fun to guess, and if you are proven wrong its almost more of a surprise, ya know? It was super fun to get in on the action :p And of course those that wore pink are still bragging about it to this day *eyeroll*
