gender scan on monday..... anyone else??!

Omg is it Monday yet?! This weekend is going so slow I'm wishing it away lol. I have my 20 week scan on Monday and will be finding out the gender if baby is cooperating!!
I'm eager to no if my baby is growing well as I still have a very small bump compared to others.... Baby is kicking well so this is good!! Anyone else have a scan coming up soon? Xx

Got my second scan on Tuesday! Hopefully baby isn't laying in any awkward positions and fingers crossed we will find out! Il be gutted if we don't and have to book an extra scan

I caved and booked an early gender scan for Thursday!! Will be 17 and a half weeks!! I know they advertise can tell from 16 weeks but what's the Likleyhood of actually being accurate xx

^ hey I would say it was pretty accurate as I've seen people find out genders earlier plus the fact that I thought from my last pregnancy that your second scan was at 20 weeks no earlier but I've been booked in at 18 weeks and actually questioned my midwife about it saying isn't it too early? What if it's not clear enough? Not just for gender but for all the growth checks too!? And she said well the second scan is anywhere between 18-22 weeks so you aren't very far off it tbh when you will be getting your scan done

It was bothering me still though just because of where I stay (on an island) we don't have the best technology at all and during my first scan the sonographer (who has to fly here monthly to do scans) said "this machine need to be chucked in the sea!" so I was still a bit uneasy that at 18 weeks was maybe a bit too early considering the not normal circumstances but midwife reassured me saying "if we don't get everything seen to on Tuesday we will book you in again for next time the sonographer is here" so that's made me feel a whole lot better! Haha she just better be including gender when she said get everything seen too or I will be damanding another scan!

Friday for me. 5 days 15 hours. It's going be pretty quick though. I remember when I was counting down 5 weeks!

Yeah I wouldn't be happy with some one saying that about a machine I was being scanned with ha! They don't half know how to word things some times don't they lol xx hope all goes well and you get to see everything xx

They are quite accurate, had mine at 16 + 3 with this baby and 16+5 with dd2, as you can see my pic from last week he's all boy! No mistaking!

I have a repeat ultrasound on Monday, because the last tech was unable to get a bunch of measurements/images (including gender). I paid for a private gender scan because they didn't inform me until several weeks later that I would need a repeat scan. So I know I am having a boy, but I am looking forward to getting another peek at him and hopefully they can get all the measurements/images they need this time.

Honestly I was hoping for another girl at the time, but I couldn't be happier now I'm used to the idea, after 8 years of girlys it's hard to imagine having a boy and shopping for him is tough, now he has a name he has more of an identity and we couldn't be happier to be having our first son

I love the idea of a girl this time but if there was to be another baby down the line I don't think I'd find out gender. I'd just roll with the punches. Ideally one of each would be perfect but I'm trying to be much more relaxed. Your little man is going to be one lucky little guy, my younger brother grew up with two sisters and he's turned out so lovely and so well rounded. Think it helps growing up seeing what girls go thru with boys haha ( not that boys don't do the same I know)
And he's a complete mummy's boy haha x

I do feel so lucky to be getting the chance to raise a boy after 2 girls, he's so well loved by the girls already we just can't wait to meet him. I want him to grow up and look after his sisters and I can imagine a really tall lad towering over us all! Funny what you picture in the future

funily enough my brother towers over me and my sister.. im a migit at 5"4, my sis is 5"8 and my brother is 6"2 haha. needless to say i had to stop calling him little brother some time ago haha x

I have my scan in the morning. We are finding out the sex but my oldest son just started school last week and we want him included so we will get it written down in an envelope and he will open it when he gets in from school and tell us. Can not wait!!

Just an update: it was quite emotional and funny! My son is 4 and can't read much so read it as "a baby gorilla!" And then he was upset that it's a girl as he wanted another brother and burst into tears, I very much wanted a girl though and I cried too. All is fine now though and he is looking forward to having a baby sister. Phew!
