Has anyone done their first tri genetic testing yet?? I did mine today, NERVOUS for our results!!

Yup! Had mine done about 2 weeks ago. Not expecting anything back for a while though, because they said they can take 3+ weeks to come back. Which is absolute torture but I am just trying not to think about it. SO many tests and scans and measurements etc, you could make yourself crazy! FX everything is great :hugs:

In two weeks I'm having the nt scan and then I plan on having an amino due to 2 of hubby's uncles having some form of mental ******ation and my huge fear of it skipping a generation or something. His dad is the only one out of 5 kids who had children so Its just a fear of mine :/

did they tell you the problems with aminio? my dr wont let me get that test. she says if they mess up it can be REALLY bad for the baby and you can leak all your amniotic fluid. My dr said unless the blood test come back showing something there is no need to get one done, and if you do NEED one make sure you go to a specialist...dont let just ANY nurse do it, cuz it can be really dangerous

I'd like to have it done, but will set us back 150€ :(

Sadly I can't pull that kind of money out of my butt >.<

Got like a week or so to decide. I do wonder if it's needed as theres no history in my family or OHs family of any genetic problems.

My ob said that I had nothing to worry about because it was his grandmother who had the kids and if it was a brother or sister I should be concerned but my doctor said I should deff have one done so after the nt, if anything looks suspicious obviously I'm having whatever is nessasary done to make sure everything is okay or known before we have this baby. Everyone in his family is telling me I need to have it done incase it does skip generations or something. I'm not even sure if they are doing a blood test with the nt scan or not. She didn't say they were and didn't say they weren't but from hat I've heard it's rare for them to do one without the blood test.

I had the NT scan done last week. Got my ultrasound results that day, and was called either thurs or fri with normal results on the bloodtest. I think I'm done with the genetic testing.

thats odd...they might be trying to push it on you for the money, cuz testing is NOT cheap, the blood test costs 1500 for the 2 tests to check the babies genes to make sure everything is normal, luckily our insurance covers 85% of it lol. But I am sure the amniotic one costs double that...id double check, and MAKE them do the blood work first because the blood work will show any abnormalties, and THEN id get the other test done, but if youre blood work comes back clean you dont need one of those. My DR says they have 2 sets of blood work before they send ANYONE to get punctured in the tummy, it SOOO SOO bad for the baby if done wrong...
