Hi,
I've just signed up to be an Usborne Organiser, which involves selling Usborne books. You can do this by party planning, events (like Christmas fairs, craft fairs etc) and through schools (in order to sell to schools you have to have made 6 x £100 orders).
The commission is really good, you earn 24% on orders received. I decided to take the plunge as I've recently had a little girl and my whole world seems to revolve around children now, lol, and I have met a lot of friends that have recently had babies, so thought books would be something I could easily sell and I love Usborne books they're gorgeous.
It only cost me £38 to start and for that I've received over £100 worth of books and stationary. The good thing about getting a supply of books is that you have something to show at parties or events where you may hold a stall. You also get catalogues which holds the whole Usborne range, something like over 1800 books!
As long as you sell £100 of books within your first 12 weeks you have no further obligation to the company, so you can stop altogether or decide to sell as and when you choose. As it's coming up to Christmas I'm sure that this will be achievable. I thought that I could always buy some book for my little one if I'm a bit short but realistically I only have to sell £10 worth of books a week to do that. If say you don't make £100 worth of sales within 12 weeks, Usborne invoice you for the difference of the starter pack and the £38, which would roughly equate to £100. There's no targets either, which really appealed to me as I want to be free to do as much or as little as I want. As a new mum I don't want to take too much on too soon, if you know what I mean.
I looked into a lot of different work from home ideas and chose Usborne because I like books, you don't have any targets, you can do as much or as little as you want and because the start up cost is relatively low. The way I see it is that if it doesn't work out all I've spent is £38 (which I'd easily spend on a meal out). If I don't make my £100 in 12 weeks then Isabella will have some lovely books that'll I'll buy in order to ensure I meet the £100. Coming up to Christmas loads of people will want to buy for family members etc and the books are sooo lovely.
If you want any further info, please feel free to pm me.
Good luck whatever you decide to do xx
