Getting a plant in memory.. useful?

So I have been speaking to lady via miscarriage support, found it helpful. Suggested getting something in remeberance of Coral... is just for me, oh dosent want to know..so.. was thinking an Orchid and a candle

Think will have to pick it up after xmas as it might die otherwise.

Is it a good idea or is something more permenant a better idea??

Beautiful hun. We have buried Edan in his memorial garden, but we picked a small basic tree so it can grow slowly then hopefully by the time it's ready to grow roots in the garden we will be somewhere more settled too. There are lots of lovely ways to remember your little one, plants are gorgeous ideas! I've made a memory box where i keep all his things and other things that remind me of him and i find that very helpful.Gts pages are brilliant for that aswell, im also getting a tattoo of snowdrops for him.There are many ways to remember theres also a site that does personalised jewellery for miscarried babies called la belle damme if you think that would be good? Either way whatever one you feel is right for you

I havent got a garden, so would be a house orchid... hopefully oh wont go mad when he see's it.... fingers crossed

Going to get some yankee candles and light them on new years day

Feeling a lot calmer now, deffinately want to do something for coral

I'm so sorry your OH wants nothing to do with this - is seems he has a lot of issues he needs to work out with himself. I hope you won't let it stop you from doing what you need to do to heal - I love the idea of an orchid, I think it's beautiful!! and I guess he wouldn't need to know what it symbolizes, to him it can just be a plant. The other ideas listed in this thread are great too, I have a candle for my baby and a memory box and memorial site, also will eventually get a tattoo. I wish there was something even more permanent I could do for Justice, it seems like I can never do enough.

Why would he be mad if you bought an orchid ??? You don't have to tell him what it's for if it's going to cause a problem just say you saw it and liked it. I am worried about you Hun, maybe your h needs to talk to someone ??

I did mention at the time about getting a peace lilly..so I think he will put two and two together. If it bothers him..he dosent have to come over..got to do whats best for me right now!!!

oh has two grown up kids.. I guess he dosent like to think of Coral as being a "real person"..so its easier just to forget she ever exsisted. Horrible..but I can understand his need for self preservation.

I am sorry he feels like that. We have a little indoor tree garden for now until the weather settles (or, in all honesty, until I can bare to put my tiny baby outside in the cold) in a planet pot. I don't think OH 100% approves, but he would never say that and he knows I need it. If you need support, you always have it here
