I have a question about bouncing back after birth and getting back into shape! With my first child, I gained 20lbs (I'm 5'1) and I was back in shape just weeks after without much of an effort. But I had him at age 27 and so I was young and still nimble haha. I'm worried that now I am older (am 32 now and not even preggers yet) so it will be hard to bounce back - not worried about the weightloss as much but just the shape changing, hardder to get rid of tummy, thigh issues, etc etc... Sp just wonderin:

1) Was it harder for you to get back into shape after baby #2? What was the difference between #1 and #2?
2) Was it harder for you to get back into shape the older you were when pregnant or doesn't matter?

Thanks ladies!

Shape-wise I think I have the same issues. It all sagged badly after DS1 and I'll never get my figure back. Not any worse with DS2, or if it is I can't tell!

Weight-wise yes I've found it harder to lose this time. I remember being around 9stone and a size 10 by this point with my first and feeling quite good about myself. But after two months I formula fed with my first. This time I am BF and my appetite is crazy. I think I weigh like 9stone 10 and am about a size 10-12, and I feel wobbly and icky.

Dd - lost 15lbs while pregnant and a further 3 stone after. I was really overweight to begin with.

Ds- back to pre-pregnancy weight within 2 weeks of having him. But bf so eaten everything in site and gave gained 7lb since :-(

Tummy is saggy and boobs 3 sizes bigger but have a better shape than I did. Going to work on tummy soon as had c-section with ds x

I think it depends on genetics just as much as behavior. I am 4 months postpartum (third section) with my third son at 41 years old, and back to prepreg weight and shape. I am about 6 pounds over my weight prior to pregancy #1 at 34, and I think my hip bones are wider (which you can't do anything about), so really not bad (wouldn't want to lose the additional pounds, as I am pretty skinny). Am sure my boobs will look awful once I am done BF...but that would likely be independent of age. In short, age was really not an issue for me.

With both my first two I BF and was skinnier than before pregnant however it took about 6-7 mths to fully achieve this. I ate everything in sight and more and was aged 26 and 28. With my third (2 weeks old) I'm 33. Pregnancy been awful and I've barely been able to eat much other than bread and other plain stuff so not put much on and even though DD only 2 weeks I'm back to pre preggo weight just with a jelly belly. Had I been able to eat like a pig as with the others I'm sure weight would have come off the same as BFing burns up to 500 calories a day.

I was 29 with my first and it took me 10 months to get back to my previous pregnancy weight and I was still working on my shape when I fell pregnant again. This time I'm 32 and we're at the 8 month mark and I still weigh the same as I did after giving birth to him. I've only just stopped bfing him whereas I stopped with my first at 7 months. I seem to hold onto weight while bfing so I'm hoping to get the weight coming off after Christmas!

I bounced back after both. I had my first at 29 and my second at 33. In terms of losing weight, it came off quickly both times.

I need to do some toning up - but that's due to being lazy! And my boobs will never be the same again :(

But otherwise I'm the same weight I was before dd.

I gained 42lbs on DS I was 5'1 and 100lbs before pregnancy took about 4months to get back
Gained 28lbs with DD I lost all the weight by 4weeks. I weigh 100lbs now. I was 30 havin DS I'm 31 with DD. I literally don't have time to eat.
I had time to sit, sleep and relax with DS no siting this time my DH works away and is home 6days a month and I'm genuine when I say this, my son is an actual ninja he is LIVELY!!
