Hiya Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you were struggling to stay full for long periods of time.

This morning for example - I had a bowl of oatsosimple made with semi skimmed milk at about 8am. By 10am I was starving! So had some dairylea light and breadsticks. Im hungry again already. Lunch is at 1pm and I have an apple with me but don't want to scoff it now as won't have anything this afternoon and am more likely to raid the biccy tin.

Friday night we went out to dinner at Nandos. I have 1/2 a roast chicken (Although I only tend to eat the breast meat), sweet potatoe mash and corn. Followed by ... ahem... cheesecake. We left there are around 6pm and went home. By 10 I was so hungry I could have eaten another dinner! Had to have some granary toast .

Is it normal for me to be getting so hungry? I know they say we should up calorie intake slightly but surely I shouldn't feel hungry so quickly.

I'm defo not dehyrated as I drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day plus the odd cup of tea and fruit juice. :coffee:

Any ideas?

im the same mate, i have to eat every few hours or i get really sickly hunger pains... mind you last night i made chicken wrapped in bacon with little potatoes and lots of veg and i happily went ot bed on a full stomach such a nice feeling lol.. today at work im snacking on bits like fruit etc, i had my breakfast at 7.30am.. lunch is at 1... its not wrong you need to listen to you body if its hungry, eat x

i am always hungry!!! i eat lots!! but i use to eat quite a lot before preg! but i am always hungry!! my husband finds it incredible how i am always hungry and can have a big dinner at 7pm and by 10pm when i go to bed i am starving and need to eat again!! i munch all day though too!!! lol!!! i have also put on 17lbs though at nearly 23weeks!

Yup, I'm exactly the same...I was fine from about weeks 14 to 24 and now I can honestly say that I spend most of my time ravenous!! Yesterday I had a bowl of cereal at 8am, left the house at 8.40 to collect my parents from the airport, got there at 9.30 and was STARVING!!!! Had 2 slices of brown seeded bread toasted at around 10.30 or 11, and then was starving by the time we sat down for lunch at 2!! it's crazy. I'm currently sitting at my desk contemplating what to eat right now cause I'm so hungry!

Oh hell yeah and i am finding it is only getting worse! I am insanely hungry now.

Im at this stage too. I am constantly hungry, and spend all day eating. I had 4 full meals on Friday and still had a snack before bed. Im stocking up now while I can cause in m y last tri with my 1st pregnancy I felt sick and couldnt eat so Im storing it up now lol.

Oh yes, absolutely. I am starving all the time!

Apparently the baby takes glucose for its use directly from your blood stream so your stores are quickly depleted. (At my glucose tests I was at below fasting blood sugar levels, 65 and 68, despite having eating about 2 hours before!)

I was actually happy to have those glucose test results, so I could prove to DH that I really DID have low blood sugar, and wasn't just using pregnancy as an excuse to eat :)

Grrr its annoying. I have a high BMI so trying to keep the weigh gain to a minimum. Already gained 11lb at 25weeks but if I am hungry... i'm hungry.
When dieting I am used to feeling hungry but I worry a bit now that it means she won't be getting what she needs etc if I just ignore it.
I think I am going to have to bring some healthy snacks into work and keep them in my desk rather than rationing what I bring in each day.
Ate my apple... hmm.. what can I have next..? lol

if your hungry i always think that you should eat! so if you are trying to eat healthy then fruits the way forward! or i do like a lot of raw veg! like carrots, runner beans or green beans (i know a bit odd), even cut up broccoli! i havent really been having a lot of them myself recently but i am going to from this week (as snacks i mean, i do eat my veg in my main meals etc!!)! hehehe!!
good luck hun!!!

Yeah, being hungry definitely feels different these days! I started putting on some weight quickly too, and wanted to control my eating better, but my pregnancy hunger symptoms turn into hardcore hypoglycemia fast (rapid heart rate, palpitations, etc) so I am not going to mess around with it, I will just be eating when I am hungry, no matter what. I am up 16 pounds at 20 weeks, though my starting bmi was ok. The only thing I can do is try to choose healthier foods, though if I am out in the city and the only thing I can get is junk food, I will eat it, because I am actuallly scared I will pass out if I don't.

Unfortunately, it seems like I am usually out in the city when low blood sugar strikes, so I still get alot of junk food. I wish I could have a stash of healthy snacks with me everywhere I go....why is all the good stuff so perishable? Grr!

Poor you. I struggle to eat healthily when out and about. Even the so called "healthy stuff" in shops isnt bloody healthy.

I suppose junk food won't harm you or the baby and is better than passing out etc.

I did just have 2 digestives... but they wern't covered in chocolate at least! :winkwink: x
