Hiya
Okay so my lo is on nutramigen aa she was having approx 3-4 8oz bottles a day plus her 3 meals a day and approx 4-8oz of juice/sugar free drink.
Now she has cmpi and had silent reflux and still has issues and cant drink soya milk and still gets very windy. I have had the HV on my case about getting her off her bottles and also dropping her feeds down as apparantly she should be on approx 600ml per day (she is/was on approx 660-880ml). We have tried lots of sippy cups etc and she just didnt seem to want to take them and would get frustrated and thrown them. Now at meal times I give her some drink in a doidy cup and tbh she will drink out of it (very messy) but doesnt really hold it herself (she doesnt like handles much lol). After trying about 7 or 8 different sippy cups/drinks bottles I have found one she will drink from. It is a TT kids on the go active one. It has a 'no spill' spout but tbh compared to a lot of them it takes no effort to get the drink out, you could do it by squeezing it. So I let lo have her juices etc in this instead of bottles. Now I know it isnt recommended but her teeth are cleaned twice a day (she has 2 bottom and 3 top) and its a next step away from a bottle right?! BUT the HV and the dietician the other day mentioned she needs to be off bottles and onto cups as her teeth are gonna decay and her palate could be affected etc and it worries me! I have tried getting her to drink her milk from the above drinks bottle she will drink from but she pulls her face - I have tried with both her nutramigen and coconut milk but she was having none of it! So do I continue to give her milk in her bottle at the moment?
We have also been told we need to wean her off nutramigen so do I try giving her coconut milk in her dr browns bottles which she will drink from? The dietician tried to tell me the bottle is a comfort for her but surely if it was she would drink her juice from a different one? Do I try get her onto coconut/oat milk first and then get her off the bottles? So confused
I just feel like they want me to get so much change out of her from getting off bottles, dropping her milk feeds AND getting her off the bottle all at once!!
HELP!!!
xx
