I got married at 23 and my husband always wanted kids and bugged me about having them from the time we dated. I am currently in grad school and he just finished grad school. He knew I wanted to finish my eduction before any little ones came along. I should finish grad school in December of 2014, and this is my story of how I got pregnant, minus the obvious. :haha:

March of this year (2013), spring break to be exact, I contracted some sort of viral systemic skin virus that covered my entire body including my insides, and I was hospitalized immediately (pictures below). Four doctors evaluated me and had never come across a case as sever as mine, especially when I had absolutely no history of skin or other illnesses. I was in horrible pain and felt like my skin was burning  and they had me on a number of medications, mostly steroids and antihistamines. I went into the hospital 3/5/2012 the same week I started my placebo pill for my birth control. Needless to say, my body was so drugged out that my period never came that week. The following week they sent me home, and I was on bed rest for a week (It took a month for my skin to return to normal). I was unable to get my bc from Wal-Mart that week and honestly it never crossed my mind.

Sitting alone in my bedroom, I got to thinking about how short life truly is and that I had dodged a bullet with whatever happened to me. I told my husband that day I think we should go ahead and try to have children, screw being worried about grad school. I've had female problems since I was 14 and everything online told me it would take 6 months to a year to get pregnant, if not much longer. Well a week later, I was back in class with a load of hw and research. I came home and informed my husband I had a moment of weakness and the baby needs to wait. My husband was not happy to say the least, but I told him I would wait and start back on bc after my next period. I knew that a woman with my history of period problems had nothing to worry about. I have suffered from irregular periods since I was 14 and had been on bc since I was 16 to regulate my periods.

Come April 12th, I had to attend a wedding rehearsal dinner that I was in and while getting dressed, I found an old pregnancy test sitting under my sink that I had forgotten about. Out of curiosity, I took the test and sat it down and continued getting dressed. I had almost forgotten about the test until I ran to use the restroom at the last minute. When I picked it up, I thought to myself, "My God I know that can't be right!" One line was clearly pink, but the other was so faint to the point I believed my eyes were playing tricks on me.

To make an already long story short, my husband and I are expecting a beautiful baby girl :happydance: December 15th (during finals week)!!!!!!!! :dohh:
