Hi,

So as it gets closer to babys due date, june, im thinking more and more about a gift from baby to DS. We did think about getting him a bike, but he hardly ever uses his balance bike or scooter, but he loves his daddys bike and has been asking for one with pedals. His steerings awfull though.
The other thing i thought was a box of goodies, some sweets, magazine, books, just some of his fave bits.

Can anyone give me any more ideas please. What did your LOs get your older kiddies?

We got DS a box of train track from DD. He'd just started getting really into trains and I thought it would be good as it was something he could play with independently while I was tied up feeding DD. He was psyched :).

We brought our son an aqua doodle. It's something he can use by himself while I'm looking after the baby and there's only so much mess he can make with water. We also brought a book called "I'm a big brother" and a t-shirt that said "best big brother" but he was a bit too young to appreciate those

We bought our son 2 packets of GoGo's. I guess a similar thing to that now would be the Lego Mini Figures.
DS was 2y 2m at the time and even now he mentions that his sister got them for him.

We got a wooden Thomas and friends train that DS had been asking for. He still mentions that his little brother got it for him. I also took DS1 to the toy shop about a week before DS2 was born and he choose a squirt from nemo baby toy for the baby which he then brought to the hospital when my mum and dad brought him up to meet his brother.

Depends on the age. After thinking of lots of extravagant big gifts we ended up getting a lion dressing up outfit - she loves it. I think involving her was more helpful than the gift in the end, she was the first visitor, she came up to see us in recovery - I had a section - and she chose his name (from choices we gave her of course!)

Sorry should haveadded that he is 3. He has been very involved, been to every appointment, we have discussed names with him, he helped OH set up the, and he was the first to pick her out any clothes. Im hoping that will help. Im in the process of setting up a box of activities for him for while im busy feeding baby, lots of different things that will challenge him and hold his attention.
Thank you all, its just occured to me that he has been asking for a captain america costume and he is desperate for it so he can complete the set.

Zane wanted a push along motorbike, he loved it. He'd go in the toy shop just to look at it. So that's what Corey bought him.
Just get something you know your eldest will love. Doesn't even have to be expensive. My mum bought chocolate for my sister when I was born.

The main thing is tho that when people come to visit, they pay the same amount of attention to your eldest as they do baby. Everyone had to give zane a cuddle and talk to him before holding Corey
